    2016 RS7 Headight Sensitivity Adjustment?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anyone think that the 16's RS7 Headlight comes on way too early on "Auto" setting even when selected to "Late" in the MMI?

I recalled there are further VCDS adjustments to Rain/Light Sensor in VCDS that corresponds to what kinda windshield you have and therefore can further affect when the headlight comes on.

Anyone have tried this and please post detail.

    Thx.

My B8 has an MMI setting for turning the lights on earlier or later. I have a 3G MMI from 2011, so I'd be surprised if they took the feature, but I could be wrong. I believe mine is in the car menu; no vcds needed.

It doesn't bother me when they come on. Surely better earlier than too late.

This was discussed somewhere else, recently. Perhaps the vag-com thread. I think it could be made earlier using VCDS, but not later.

Yes...I know, the setting is also in my MMI in the 2016...see my original post #1 above: "Does anyone think that the 16's RS7 Headlight comes on way too early on "Auto" setting even when selected to "Late" in the MMI?"

Agreed; seems to come on way too early compared to the other audis on the road. I've gone through vagcom and can't find anything to make them come on later; only earlier. I tried different windshield types to no avail.

I was wondering the same. Can't seem to find any indicator other than the reflection off the car in front of you. I thought the navi map turning into night/day mode was a possible indicator but found instances where it was in day mode but headlights were on.

I mostly know the headlights are on when I see the lights reflected from the car in front of me.

Again, there is still plenty of sunlight around but my headlight would be on. I would have to switch to parking lights in order to just have the DRL on without headlight on.

On the headlight switch a green icon light ups when the lights are on. I too wish there were a small indicator in the IP somewhere. Chucky - I agree they seem to more sensitive than on past cars. I have noticed the lights come on when it is still sunny out but the sun is low on the horizon. Maybe it compares time of day to the ambient light or something similar that they didn't calculate before?

I agree they come on too early or turn off too late, very often I have my sunglasses on and the headlights are still on. I asked at my 5k check up and they said it was working fine. On another note, I did get them to raise the aim of the headlight for me.
