    Coilover Rattle

I just installed a set of solo-werks S1 coils just today.
Took it around the block from my shop and their is a rattle from the front.
I did not have time to take everything out again so it is still up on the lift.
I really think I did not tighten the top lock nut on the strut all the way. I stopped since my impact stopped turn it.

    Any thoughts?

Double check ALL the torque specs on the install. I believe the torque specs on the front shock top hat should be around 40-50lbs. I've been on Solowerks for over 8K miles without a single issue or rattle. Then again, I'm OCD about torquing everything down.

Re-check the top hat bolts. Those may have come loose. But your strut nut could also have come loose.

On a side note, did you purge the shocks as recommended by Solo?

I had a nasty front end rattle after removing air ride that ended up being an improperly torqued control arm. That will cause havoc.

    UPDATE:
I put my car back up on the lift and loosened and torqued down every bolt while the suspension was loaded.

    That rattle noise went away.

My next problem is that after I had aligned the car, at slow speeds, like pulling in and out of drive ways, there is this single popping noise coming from the right front.
This noise never came about until I aligned it. Since i had only touched the tie rods would you think it could be that?

2 things with coilovers: make sure your rings are locked, if not that, it most likely could be the top hat bearing. if seen a lot having to be replaced over time.

Lock rings are tight. I replaced the top hat bearings when installing the coils. I can't figure out what's wrong. :/

Everything is tight. I talked to my master tech today and he recommends that I loosen and re torque everything under load AGAIN and then re-align it.

I'll see if that makes a difference tomorrow
