    Front Brake pads Question -

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I replaced my brakes with front OEM Rotors + Ferrodo Pads and Rear Akebono pads. I wanted Akebono for the fronts but they don't make them. What pads are you guys using that keep the wheels as clean as Akebono? I want to throw these Ferodo's on the trash can, my whees look horrible after 3 days of driving :(

    Thanks

Ferodos have a great bite, but known to dust like crazy. I guess it's a trade off some are willing to live with.

Wasn't it said that Ferodo (DS2500) pads produce far less dust, then the OEM (Paggid) pads?
(I'm asking because I have OEM rotors&pads that dust like hell and in two months I'm swtiching to AP Racing rotors and Ferodo DS2500pads)

If you're looking to keep your wheels clean, then DS2500 is the wrong pad for you. They're known to dust.

Centrics create next to no dust and are a great street pad. However, be forewarned that they have less initial bite than OEM and many aftermarket offerings. In addition, they aren't the best in wet driving.

That all said, I've used them for 5+years and am completely happy. And so are my wheels.

EBC Redstuff pads work well for street driving and are very low dust.

As I asked, I'm comparing two specific brake pads. Not generally keeping the dust away:
"Wasn't it said that Ferodo (DS2500) pads produce far less dust, then the OEM (Paggid) pads?"

I know from my own experience that the Paggids crap your rims after a few harder brakes. So if the Ferodos are cleaner than that, I'm happy.

Thanks everyone for the input. I will look into these options.
