Just purchased a 2012 A4, looking for advice

    Hello all.

I found your community through a bit of searching, and from what I've seen everyone is most helpful.

I just bought a moonlight blue pearl 2012 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Premium Plus 6 speed manual (First Audi) and was looking for some advice on tasteful upgrades, known problems, etc. - any input would be greatly appreciated.

As far as upgrades I'm considering slight mechanical (cold air intake/ other suggestions?) and I'll be tinting out the windows and possibly adding a trunk lip spoiler.

Thanks in advance for any feedback~~!

Buyer's guide I put together has a ton of information regarding known issues with the car... Good call with the manual transmission, and long story short the 2012 were a great model year with very few issues.

Mods, again, can we PLEASE get this stickied?

Cold air intake won't accomplish anything; go with an aFe Pro Dry S drop in filter for the noise and power gain. CAIs don't actually gain any power with this motor. Assuming you're out of warranty or not concerned with voiding one, a stage 1 tune is the best performance bang for your buck.

Need some pics of the car, too!

I don't think they're getting the hint, because we see these twice a week.

OP! Congratulations on the car! As PQ stated, throw up some pics. Welcome!

swap all the interior lights with leds.

if its under warrranty, leave the engine alone.

get the carista app so you can tweak ur settings, such as remote windows and sunroof up/down.

That guide is very helpful, thank you!

I did some preliminary searching regarding the B8, and it seemed as if the 2012 model had the least reported problems - thanks for the reassurance.

This is the filter you'd recommend then, looking for performance and slight noise uptick. http://www.autoanything.com/air-filt...A4151A0A0.aspx

I wouldn't be voiding the warranty, but I'm not sure if the stage 1 ECU is for me any other ideas?

    This is the one:

    https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B8_A4...ter/ES2532404/

You can probably find it with that part number anywhere. Personally I got mine off Amazon (for the free shipping) but I paid the same price. Install took maybe 7 minutes.

Enjoy the car for a while with the filter, and if you decide you want to tune it then go for it. They're relatively quick as-is, and it makes sense to do mods slowly so you can enjoy each one.@Blbroo 's "Rebroos" thread is a good place to start; he's done and thoroughly reviewed a ton of mods on his car.
