Conditions: 66F, 30.03BP, and 62% humidity for a DA of + 567 feet.

Track grip got worse as the night went on, I couldn't take advantage of the upper 50F temps spinning 1st and into 2nd gear. Oh well, maybe an 11.5x at the next track event in Feb? I smelled 11.6x the last time, I think I can get it into 11.5x, we will see!

yes, its the standard 4000rpm LC with the GIAC TCU file

How do you use launch control

Dynamic mode / TCS on sport / left foot on brake / right foot on gas...let off brake when you want to launch. Sometimes you have the cycle between drive modes back to dynamic in order to activate launch control.

Notice I said TCS sport, if you hold the TCS button (the slipper symbol button) for over 5 seconds, it'll display TCS OFF in the center display versus TSC sport. I launch harder in TCS sport at my particular track.

I know about the TCS off thing. My launch doesn't seem to work when I hold the brake, rather lazy launch. I do notice it launch if I WOT from a dead dig instead tho. Maybe it was in sport mode when I did it..(second guessing myself now). I'll check it out. Thanks

Did you get it to work? You may need to cycle the drive-mode button back to Dynamic. Here is what I do to ensure it works every time:

Start car
Hit the TCS button once (puts it into "sport")
Cycle drive select to Dynamic (even if its in dynamic on the display at start, I still cycle it through the other modes back into dynamic)
The DSG should now be in "S"

LC should now work, however if you creep forward (like the car creeps forward a couple ft) such as driving from the staging burn-out area to the actual christmas tree lights at a dragstrip, I find that I need to do the following:

Cycle the DSG back to "D"
Cycle the DSG back to "S"

LC should now work if you are below the OEM 200 launch limit.

If I don't cycle between drive select modes, or cycle between S to D back to S, I always find LC a hit/miss

Stating the obvious but just in case: you have to floor the gas while keeping the brake pressed. Revs should then go to 3000rpm without the clutch 'engaging'. When letting go the break, clutch engages and pulls your face off (well sort of anyway ;) )

I'm quite surprise !! on the s4 we see a uni doing 11.9 and now giac doing 11.6.. look pretty good ! How about you get stickier tire with LW wheels ? you will def be doing 11.5 :)

what is V2 RACE tune ? Ethanol mix ? or 93 ?

I'm using a 38% ethanol mixture with 93 octane. Based on my previous times, if I drop my 60ft by .010 fro 1.674 to 1.664, i'll drop my 1/4 time by about .065 and gain about .75mph, so essentially around [email protected]. I think I may hit 11.5 without any additional work with more runs. However, yes, stickier tires and LW wheels will help, but may not be necessary.

Nice! I knew my car felt fast but glad to see seat of the pants was right. Not suggesting Im as fast as you but have always been an AWE / GIAC guy (2001 S4 stg 3) and its nice to see them on top again. Great run!
