    Projector swap facelift H7 projectors?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have been doing some searching (probably not hard enough), and have been having a hard time finding an answer. I have a 1999 B5 facelift, with the one piece headlights. They have the h7 halogen projectors in them, but they have terrible output. I believe one has a burned bowl, so I am looking to swap them out. Is there a direct swap for the stock halogen projectors? Or will I have to do some modifying to headlight to make any projector fit? If there is already a thread feel free to post it and I will read it, just looking for a direct answer. Thanks in advance!

The easiest swap will be the Morimoto Mini H1. As far as I understand, no modification of the housing is required. There is a template for a bracket floating around here that you can cut out to adapt the stock mounting points to the Mini H1.

That being said, I chose a more aggressive approach and did some more cutting and fit the FX-R projector. A lot more work, but worth it in my opinion.

Do you know off the top of your head, would generic MH1 work from TRS? I buy a fair amount of lighting stuff from them but I don't have the morimoto projectors on hand, just the generics

Morimoto is the "house brand" at TRS.

But the generic ones that they sell, that are not morimoto branded, do you know if those mounting holes are the same? It's the H1 projectors you can purchase in the close out section: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/cl...l#.VqGZIuxHanM

I have no idea, but I would guess that they are the same.
