I was messing with VCDS last night, I failed miserably.

I failed because this morning as I was leaving for work I go to start the car and it starts, runs for a second and dies.

How do I fix this, anyone know by the below what needs to be done? I really need this car back on the road, Please and Thank you in advance

I just got the VCDS, so I was browsing around in it, trying to get used to it. I was in the instruments section when my laptop battery died, I unplugged everything, locked the car, went to sleep. Then in the morning when I was trying to leave for work it started, but shut off a second later...

If it is Immobilizer then you would not have any power IIRC

    Yep.

Some how my car lost connectivity with my key and triggered the immobilizer. It would start for half a second or so and shut off just like you described. Hooked up my Foxwell tool to scan the engine codes and the first one I saw was the immobilizer code. Cleared it and it started right back up.

You will literally not be able to start the vehicle with that code on.

    UPDATE

So I ended up towing it to a shop that only works on German cars. I was told it would take a couple day, took a week but shes back on the road. The tech said he had to reprogram the IMMO, Keys, Cluster, and one other thing I cannot recall at the moment. Also said something about it now has the latest software installed that he had to pull from Germany?

Regardless, after a week and coughing up $400 and driving my friends C230 K Sport, the S4 feels like a monster almost feels like its never ran better before, could it be the updated software or is it just me lol

Did he just install windows 10 on your audi's computer? sounds fishy, he probably just cleaned up errors and maybe ended up recoding the immo. But i want that new software too!!

Hey but the important thing is, car is back up and running! Enjoy it!
