What Traction Control Mode Do You Usually Drive In?

Just curious because I have noticed slight difference in performance with it in sport or off, but not sure if it is good to keep it off. I assume it is totally fine if I drive on streets, but I wanted to see what everybody else does.

Good to know. I went to the track in the first month of driving and left it on because I was afraid of losing traction, but now I wish I had turned it off for the performance benifits.

So when traction control is off, how does the Haldex determine where to send power?

I may sound stupid in asking this but why in sports mode when there is snow? Is it just because you want to have more fun or have you noticed better handling/traction with it in sport or off?

All the way off (ESC OFF), all the time. Never any snow out here and it's sunny for 300+ days a year, car only gets driven on the weekends anymore. Traction control (even in Sport mode) gets in the way any time you go past half throttle with a Stage 2 tune. Without the brake assist of traction control getting in the way, it is absolutely possible to get sideways with the tune, even with the Haldex version of Quattro. Give the wheel a yank left or right on an empty desert road, mash the gas, back end rotates out until you let off...it never gets old :)

I found out that the sports mode allows a larger drift angle than normal and it does not kill the throttle input as much when you get understeer (on snow...!). I went to an Audi Driver training on a frozen lake last winter to 'learn' this... So yes, its for fun, lots of fun!!

As far as driving on the track goes: I am not an experienced driver on a track, so I was busy keeping the line and not missing the braking points and did not notice any Haldex 'operation'.

    Speaking of having fun...
