Q5 TDI Chipwerke Pro

Has anyone tried this on their TDI? I called Chipwerke and the person I spoke with said that the 245hp model is the module needed for U.S. 3.0 TDI cars.

I got one a few months back. Took me about a month or 2 to get it set up correctly.

There is a noticeable improvement. I can tell the difference when I have it installed and not. I don't have Dyno facts to back that up (no all wheel drive dynos near me).

I have had the car serviced (I removed it first) and the dealer didn't say anything...so no TD1 code on my car.

Interesting they told you they didn't have one for the Q5....I was told to just get Audi Q7 TDI.

I will tell you the Chip came with it set at 5 F ...you want to change it to 2 F .

That is the best setting I found that didn't cause a Check Engine Light.

Oh and they gave me a discount code "Audizine30"...gave me like 10% which covered the shipping and a little more. Not sure if it is still valid, but worth a try.

Got the Chip within a week....took me about 30 minutes to install, along with some extra zip ties....most of that time was where I wanted to mount it.

I honestly think the chip is a really good safe Stage 1 for our TDIs. It increases the power and is totally removal for warranty or servicing issues.

I will tell you that once the TDI crap is done, I will be looking into a Stage 2 type ECU tune.

I got the MagnaFlow exhaust kit Part Number# 15331. I got it from this company (sorry can't find the email with their name on it)that was offering a really good discount...think I paid a little more the $500 for it.

I only had it on for about a month....so far, I really haven't noticed a lot....a little more power.

It isn't very loud at idle or highway speeds ( I can't even hear it), but a nice roar when you really get into the throttle.

It installed fairly easy....only thing I didn't like is it doesn't seem to clamp down really tight where it mates up factory pipe. However, it doesn't leak and slide off, just wish it was a bit tighter.

You can tell it is a lot less restrictive just by looking at it....I really didn't plan on getting it so soon, but couldn't pass up the price.



My next project is the Stock Air Box mod the guys did on the SQ5s....just waiting for the parts to get here, and the snow storms to stop.

I got mine on my A6 tdi and noticed a big improvement, same engine.

For ease of warranty, extra power and increased fuel Eco it's a no brainer.

If you are looking at straight long trips and best fuel change the setting to 1 otherwise 2 is the best for power.

I ran it on 2- F for a few days and started to hear a lot of chattering/knocking at low rpm's when accelerating. I contacted Chipwerke and he said not to take it past C or D on the first dial and leave the second on F, but he recommended A-F. I tried A-F and had the same issue. I removed the module and the issue went away. He said that it could be a bad module and offered to replace it, but I decided to return it and get a refund.

Haha I realized, but its still concerning. Even a single faulty unit on a TDI could spell trouble for us (except Mr. Stage 2 ) too. Just shakes my confidence in the product as a whole. If I use the chip and incur damage, Chipwerke is not going to reimburse me, and Audi could (if they really wanted to) figure out I some how modified boost if I wanted to claim warranty.

I ran it for a few days after changing the settings to A-F and the chattering occurred more often. It definitely added power and helped with throttle response. You have 30 days to return it if you have any issues.

Anyone else try one of these after the dieselgate fix? I have a Q7 id rather not cause any warranty issues.
