    Any idea what this is?

    Hello, while checking for an oil leak I heard this valve clicking. The ambient air temp here is probably 20f. Is it normal? Can anyone id this part(The one with the electrical connection on the left)

    That's normal. It's the N80/EVAP purge valve. It's suppose to click.

    Purge valve solenoid.

    Allows fumes from the fuel tank/charcoal canister to be pulled into the engine for combustion.

    Clicking is normal.

    Looks like you may want to replace that check valve though

    @onceover...do u have a part number for the check valve? And what are the symptoms for check valve failure?

    Dude your evap/purge valve is fine. Swap it if you get the code for it.

    I was referring to the check valve beside it, the previous poster had mentioned it might require replacement.

    Well it might not need to be replaced if you aren't throwing any wrong flow codes but it assuming your car has over 100K on it it doesn't hurt.
