Cost of Audi platinum coverage warranty (2 years, 24k miles)

Just been quoted $4130 for a 2 yr/24k mile Audi platinum warranty on a 2007 RS4 (38k miles on the clock). Does this seem reasonable? I paid approx $2.5k for the same warranty for a 2006 S4 with similar mileage.

Hmm...yeah i guess that's about what premium you would expect to pay. Personally.....i'd skip the warranty at that low of mileage and throw that money into other parts. 24k miles isnt much for a warranty. Yeah if the engine goes or the transmission needs rebuilding, then it would be money well spent..... IF they cover everything. However, 4Grand is what i would spend on headers, exhaust and maybe a set of coils. you probably would enjoy the car more then spending the 4g on a warranty. Just my .02

Warranties are negotiable just like vehicles. Get a few quotes. I'd let each broker you work with know that you're shopping around too.

Definitely nogiate it down. I bought my RS4 in Sept 2014 with 30k miles on it and picked up a Platinum Audi Warranty for $3,800 for 48 months/48,000 miles.

Kept it for about a year and then canceled it for a pro-rated refund.

Good advice, thank you. I only plan to keep the car for 3 years or so, since I'm likely to put 30k miles on it during this time. So getting a warranty and canceling once I feel more confident about the car seems like a reasonable approach.

    And have never been happier

Does it cover clutch and other wear parts? It would be awesome if brakes/clutch would be covered while you have it. RS has a known issue with clutch and you can end up with good value if that is done under your ownership at no cost :)

And if this is an Audi dealership and not a side dealership, then it wouldn't hurt to have them confirm that slave cylinder/hose is not bad/updated. Also confirm that DRC system (if need be), has already been updated as part of recall. I am sure I missed a few things..

i've never seen an aftermarket warranty that covers consumables like clutch and/or brakes...care to enlighten me? oil changes get expensive and i'd love to buy a lump sum of oil changes and brake pad changes to be included into a warranty.

OP mentioned Audi dealership. So I asked if this warranty would be from them, if yes, then does it cover or not? Many maintenance packages/warranties cover wear items. Depends on what you get. Many can be added later on. The extended plan on my previous cars were covered - something Audi is behind in.

I understand what you mean about aftermarket ones, but I brought this up since OP mentioned Audi dealership.. hope that made sense.
