04 Allroad front suspension won't lift.

So the allroad was leaking air out of the left front end. I found it to be leaking air out of the fitting. Took the fitting off and O-ring was fine but the ferrell was trashed so I replaced it. No I can't get the front end to lift at all. The car starts, I hear the compressor going for about 2 minutes before it shuts off. I lifted up the front end to see if the fitting was leaking while it was pumping but no bubbles .

You have a vagcom cable? You can use vag-com to go through a sequence of filling the airbags. Level sensor still connected and functioning correctly?

Couple things to try, good luck!

Does the suspension light come on and stay on when the compressor turns off? They is a safety switch that cuts the compressor's power until the key is cycled if the temp on the compressor gets too hot or it runs for too long. If the compressor is too weak to fill the holding tank before it reaches the safety shutoff temp or timeout then it would give the symptoms you speak of.

    -is the compressor loud?
-have you tried running the compressor, when it stops, cycling the key and trying again?

I don't have a vagcom cable but sounds like I should have one on hand. I'll lift the car up again to see if the level sensor is still connected but the only I touched was the fitting on the left airbag.

compressor isn't loud at all. The previous owner put a new arnott comp about 7k miles ago so should still be good.

Since the front end is pretty much on the ground, as soon as I start the car. The jack mode light blinks and comp kicks on, 2 minutes later it shuts off. I'm surprise that the comp doesn't kick back on after cooling down or whatever it is that its doing. I will try cycling the key....

    Thanks!

Disconnect the line at the spring and check for air pressure.

so I took the left front wheel off and turn the key on. I can now hear a loud hissing sound inside the airbag. sprayed the entire thing but can't find any bubbles.

Could I have damage something inside when I rested the car on the bags without any pressure?

Please do not let your car rest on the ground when your shocks are depressurized.

It caused the inner o-ring on the inside of the shock to dislodge. You'll find that the car won't be able to lift because the seal between the strut and bag is broken. Take off the whole shock and disassemble the bag and strut so you can access the inner o-ring and reposition it. Mount everything back and turn the ignition on, you'll hear the compressor kick on and if you're lucky, the bag will start to pressurize and expand. I had to grab the bottom of the bag and wiggle pull down and then everything was peachy.

My Allroad didn't lift, and the pump was shut down because of overheating. Also the yellow light was blinking in the instrument cluster. The fault was the rear air bag, it was leaking a lot.

Maybe dumb question sort of related: I got replacement bags that came with replacement fittings. Each of the fittings has a white plastic thing in it. Am I supposed to snip the line at the old fitting and insert it into the plastic piece? Or am I supposed to remove the plastic piece and fit the line into the fitting? I received NO directions

Take out the white plastic plug and push the line in. Make sure to cut it nice and square
