    Spulen Rear diff mount

Does anyone have experience with this diff mount? Looks like yet another copy of Apikol's design, but they have a 75A durometer bushing whereas Apikol's red bushing is 70. I've completely destroyed the Apikol blue bushing that came with the car, so I'm looking for something better for the track.

All the rear diff mounts for the B6/7 cars seem to be very similar copies of the Apikol mount. I would try out the Spulen mount.

It would be really interesting if 034 Motorsport would make a rear diff mount with a big spherical bearing.

I ended up ordering a red replacement bushing from Apikol.

I was thinking more along the lines of a solid aluminum or delrin diff mount.

I'm curious if the 034 diff carrier insert would help the Apikol last longer. Or maybe you guys need to stop shifting so hard. :)

I've had the 034 diff carrier for about 9 months. Apikol mount is 3+ years old so it outlasted it's warranty by at least two years. 1 HPDE killed it.

No time for granny shiftin, slammin gears 24/7.

Probably China. I asked a USP rep if they were made in the US and he said no. That's part of the reason I didn't buy it.

How was the ECS rear diff mount? I have two but not installed yet. Will install on the sedan first because it needs rear brakes.

I've recently developed some clunky shifting and I'm betting that^^ is what my bushing looks like as well.

Didn't realize you could buy a new bushing, thought I'd have to replace the whole mount. Good to know!

That bushing is specific to the Apikol mount. I replaced it with the red bushing.

I should have specified, I currently have the Apikol mount on my car. Did you notice any additional NVH with the red bushing?

Well I just installed it last night so I've only driven it once, but no it didn't add any NVH.

Regarding the Spulen diff mount I ordered one a few days ago, and it will be in my hands in the next couple of days. I have had some difficulty at times with my 1-2 shift, esp when cold. More importantly I have had some diff clunk when starting off in gear and changing direction. I will let you know if it helps in my situation.

If you want a bit tighter setup you can go with Powerflex BLACK. Powerflex Black Series has a 95A polyurethane rating, wheres the Spulen has a softer 75A rating.

The powerflex are a press-in option, so you can re-use your OEM carrier-bracket.

I'm having the ECS mount installed soon and will report back. Supposedly it's in between the blue and red Apikol as far as firmness.

For anyone interested in the Spulen rear diff mount, I received mine last week and installed it on Saturday. The top bolt required lateral thinking (had to remove the passenger-side diff carrier bolt and move the front of the diff sideways, no downward movement). The bushing portion went in eventually after a lot of struggling. Bolted right up. Shifting feel drastically better, especially when moving. MUCH less driveline slop when setting off, changing direction from forward to reverse (and vice-versa), and shifting. This has made me want to purchase the rear diff carrier mount insert kit. I would whole-heartedly recommend this upgrade, at least based on my initial thoughts.

^Doesn't sound right. The piece looks identical to the Apikol so you should not have needed to move the diff sideways. During installation, your diff should be supported with a floor jack and you can just raise and lower it a bit to facilitate getting the bolts to slide out.

Just to clarify, the diff wouldn't move up/down much at all to get the top bolt out of the bracket holding it. I really pulled down hard. However it really ended up being quite easy once I took out one of the 2 bolts holding the back of the diff to the carrier bracket. Then the nose of the diff just pushed right over to the side (with a little resistance of course, but not nearly as much as before).

Car on Jakstands, floor jack supporting the weight of the rear diff. Once the bolts are unthreaded, you can remove them by moving the diff either up or down, I forget but am sure that it's not sideways,
