I've never had a car with a boost gauge so I'm not sure how it operates. Mine indicates there is 20 "/Hg at idle, 22 "/hg going down the road with foot off of the gas, and up to 11psi when under acceleration. The gauge only shows boost pressure for short periods of time like under hard acceleration from 2000 to maybe 4000 rpm then it tails off to vacuum again is this the way it is supposed to operate.

Yes, that's how it works and those are pretty normal readings for a stock car I believe.

Your vacuum and throttle overrun readings are spot on, as is your peak boost pressure (assuming you are stock). As for the boost dropping off in the higher RPMs, its more of a taper than a sharp decline. Ensure your vacuum line running to the gauge is not kinked.

Have you done a boost leak test? Do you have a way to log the boost pressure?

I thought K03s are suppose to have a gradual decline in boost pressure after 4500rpms or so

Only when chipped does the boost taper. With the stock programming the K03 can maintain ~10psi to redline.

I have been struggling with the rpm hanging during shifts it takes a couple of seconds to return to idle with the vacuum readings that I have can I still have vacuum leaks that would cause the rpm to hang. I have not done a boost leak test but I will and I guess I will also look for vacuum leaks as well.

Stock tuning will peak around 11psi and taper to around 7psi by recline.

RPM hang between gears is usually caused by the upper clurch pedal position switch being defective or out of adjustment.

This is the last issue that I have with this car. I bought a 2002 with a broken timing belt, someone had converted it from an automatic to a 5 spd manual. The car runs great except for the rpm hang. I followed the post that I found on this site I ran a new wire from pin #39 on the ecu and installed the wire to the clutch switch from a 2004 and tapped into a hot wire on the brake switch. I have had issues with some of the parts that I used from the 04 not working on the 02. The 02 had a rust issue with the drivers door so I put the 04 door on then the power windows stopped working, and as usual I manage to do the stupidest thing possible when removing the 04 door I cut the plug off of the 02 harness. The wiring harness was different so I'm wondering if I have a part compatibility issue again or should I check my clutch switch install.

Recently installed a boost gauge and was pleasantly surprised to see that my numbers match those above just about exactly.
