Factory Memo Recorder?

On a recent junkyard visit I found this thing in the driver's door pocket with six buttons on it as follow...

I'm guessing it's some sort of memo recorder device - yes, no, maybe? There's currently an eBay auction for one which indicates that it's a seat memory switch, but I'm not sure that's correct... http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-03-AUDI...1VemY1&vxp=mtr

Anyone know what this really is?

Exactly! I guess I was hoping that's what this was. Why the hell couldn't they make the letters a little smaller and spell out "MEMORY".
