    DIY: Timing chain tensioner

Will post this as I do this over the weekend. I can't promise pics since AZ won't allow pics uploaded from phones built after about 2005, but I will try. I couldn't find any DIY on this except for some related to VWs where the take down process is very different.

Thanks and I've read that. I also have the factory repair manual from erwin and I do believe additional tools or otherwise prayers are required to do this.

Awesome! If you upload the pictures to Photobucket we can see them. I personally would find this immensely helpful as I plan on doing this soon.

You can upload pics from your phone using the free tapatalk app. What I do is create the thread from my laptop and add pics from my phone one the thread is created. It's very easy to upload pics from your phone to audizine from the app.

Looks like I'm in the same boat as you my friend. Looks like there isn't a lot info too that I can find. Here's the thread that I started:

Mind sharing where you got the Erwin repair manual?

So far the only thing I have found that IS required is the 'T10368' spacer for the crank timing.

That's because this is the b8 forum... where suspension, wheels, and a grille are considered a build. Doesn't seem like many guys on this sub-forum do much of there own work hence the lack of DIY threads.

    No doubt.

I got my car down to the front of the motor and was able to inspect the tensioner through the golf ball size inspection hole. Its f*cked.

Did yours go too or are you doing preventive maintenance?

I have seen a lot of DIY threads on here, and for more than swapping in LEDs or oil changes.

There are also a good number of us that do our own stunts.

    Stay classy.
