ABS low speed pulse, no code

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This thing is killing me: Have consistent what feels like low speed ABS pulsing (1 pulse per wheel rev) from what appears front left wheel.
VAGcom shows consistent wheel speed on all 4 wheels.
    No ABS code.
ABS wheel speed sensor pulled. Cleaned. Connectors cleaned. Tone ring looks good. Cleaned.
    Put everything back together.
As before, all 4 wheel speed sensors are showing what appears to be the correct speed.
    No ABS codes.
    Module ‘talking’.
Logged the 4 channels. As soon as I step on the brake, logging stops. And low speed low frequency pulse (one per revolution) from (appears) front left brake/wheel.
Have to close ABS module, open again. Still NO code. Wheel speed showing until I brake.
    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Bad module?
    Bad sensor?

Have you tried re coding the abs module in vcds? settings might be off or something funky. I was having weird braking problems with intermittent abs pulsation before i recoded. No codes for me either.
    worth a shot

    Will try right away.
Only glanced at the coding briefly, didn't really see options (at least without having the security log in code on hand).

Installed the new front left ABS sensor I had on hand: no difference.

    I have nothing left.
    Bad ABS module?

I see that you were trying to code your engine ecu in a earlier post, try 06855 that is by looking at your sig you have a auto allroad right?
if its the manual allroad in your sig, try 06815.
that coding is assuming you have low range

looking at your part number for your abs brain you have bosch 5.3.

if you dont have ASR you cant code the abs brain

if you do have asr try this

    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index....3_ABS/EDS/ASR)
    coding should be 00003

try this if you have esp and asr
    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...BS/EDS/ASR/ESP)

login looks like it should be
    07457

    coding should be
    06357

then you have to calibrate steering wheel sensor

The abs brain can do really weird stuff when it is on its way out. Its rather interesting that you loose connection after you hit the brakes. I would get a new brain at a parts yard that dosent deal in german cars so you can get the part for super cheap! some companies also repair them for a fair price.

Haha sorry if I came off rude. I was trying to sound like comic book guy in the Simpsons.

Fact is that every issue has already happened and been solved on a car platform this old. Mining knowledge base with proper search terms is key. My google-fu is strong rguil-san
