    Good day member;

    I just replaced my drivers window regulator. The window rolls down fine but when I attempt to close , it travels to the top then comes back down by 3 inches. Also the motor seems to be straining when closing the last 5-6 inches of the window. Could be the new regulator working?

    It like the pinch point safe guard is initiating. Could the regulator and window not be aligned properly? ( I can't find any DIYs on how to align the window and the new regulator) I tried to reset the auto window features by lowering the window and holding the button down for 5 sec then immediately closing the window and holding the button up for 5 secs but as soon the window reaches the top, it immediately goes down 3 inches as before so I can't properly reset.

    Any ideas?

    Thank-you in advance

    Shot in the dark; roll up window and hold it there for three or four seconds.

    I tried that but as soon as the window hits the top it automatically goes down 3 inches even with the button up

    Hello;

    I disassembled and reassembled the whole window system. I have rectified the not closing and restored auto power functions. I noticed that when the window is closing it seems to do so slower then other windows in the car.

    Could something be rubbing causing the slower speed? Is this normal until the window regulator works itself in?

    Thanks

    My guess is that the alignment is off. Also are the cables in the clips and away from the path of the window? When I replaced my regulator I took photos of the old clips to make sure I had the new ones aligned properly. Below is the left clip and the right clip. On the left side, note how the big black washer sits slightly left of center of the square on the black plastic clip compared to the right side which appears to be right in the middle. Not sure if it will make a difference, but I haven't had any issues since the install.
