Hi everyone, I am new in this forum. I am asking for suggestion on my audi a4 1.8 b5 platform, FWD 4 speed automatic transmission.

The problem that I have is on my reverse. when I shift in reverse, I can feel the transmission engaged to reverse and the car moves slowly like usual when we shift to reverse, but when I press the gas pedal, it only rev and the car won't move fast, it's like i'm on neutral. BTW, forward gears are working fine. I notice the problem when I got home when I park my car.

Any idea what might be the problem? Does anyone have the same problem? some says it's MFS, valve body, and reverse drum. I am in limited options here.

I saw a lot of forums about no reverse but I don't see any solutions about their problem.

    Thanks in advance.

Start with the simplest things. Transmission fluid doesn't last forever, and by me saying that is find someone way to see if it is low. I know these cars do not have transmission dipstick/filler tube. If its low that could be "a" reason why it is not engaging in reverse fast enough.

Another reason is that fluid is dirty and the filter needs to be replaced. Dirty transmission fluid in the valve body could cause some weird problems. Start simple then work your way up the food chain. Hope that helps.
