    Navigation Retrofit

    Hi There.

My car does not have Navigation.
Has anyone been able to retrofit OEM navigation to an A7 and if so, what components are needed.
    Thanks

I must admit, l thought all ROW A7's had a base navigation system (SD card) as part of the base specification.

Retrofitting the OEM navigation system MMI 3G+ (or 4G - not sure your car age) can be done, but its very expensive (just for componants) and will need dealer support to enable and register the componants. By expensive l would estimate 3-4000 US$

Honestly, invest in a top of the range portable navigation (or even an iPad running waze) you will get much more features and usability at a fraction of the cost.

Retrofit cost is not worth the money IMO

    Thanks for all the responses.
In South Africa, Audi only give you a body and an engine and arbitrary wheels. Every thing else is added on.
It seems odd that my car has Wifi, DVD, and no Nav.

I use my Note 4 for Navigation, was hoping that this would stream instructions via Bluetooth, but will not.

I was wondering since all components are present whether there was programming that could activate it. I have two SD slots so maps could be loaded.

    Worth a try.

Kufatec want over 2000 EUR for their kit. Converted to Rands and postage it works out to R42 000.00. Our poor currency is worth shit.

Will you be having the fitting done by a 3rd party or done by yourself? Very doable if you are not in a hurry to fit. You can find all the correct parts and wiring on ebay or other sources. Arrange to have the component protection lifted by the dealer.
    Are you RHD in SA?

Actually i have just read your last post with you having 2 sd card slots and im pretty sure that you have nav low which is SD card based navigation. Ie you need a Audi SD card with maps loaded onto it for the mmi to read it. I may be wrong so apologies if so.
What happens when you press the nav button?

Inability to stream instructions over BT is a known issue on almost all cars now. However, you can still have your phone bleat out the instructions even when it is connected to BT.

@morski; We drive on the left hand side of the road in SA as in the UK. When I press the Nav button, it states Nav not available.

@agent47; this is what I do.
