    rumbling noise???

So I am trying to help my Dad out before he brings the car to the dealer. His car is a 2010 B8 2.0T Quattro Plus with Nav.

Rumbling noise only happens when the car is moving any speed, start to hear at 5 mph. Engage clutch and noise is still there (car still moving). Rev engine not from there.

So my first thought was those sh!ty Perreli P6's, fronts are at 5/32's and rears are at 6/32's, I know when they get about half the life left they start to sound like a truck. This noise is much louder, much.... (you can clearly hear the noise in the car, even the radio at normal level you can still hear this rumble)

BTW, the noise is constant as long at the car is rolling, and it doesn't get louder with speed, the rate of speed doesn't change the sound, just as long as you are moving it's there.

So my next thought was something was rubbing. I checked everything under the car, drive train, etc. Spun both wheels front and rear, and every thing seems fine.

Last thought is a wheel bearing, I remember I had to replace one on my old MKIV (rear) it was whinning though. (replaced bearing and noise went away)

Any thoughts gang? Thanks so much for your help...

If it doesn't change with speed, I'd rule out wheel bearing. The tone doesn't change or speed up?
