    Bluetooth Steering Wheel Track Skip

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is there ANY way to skip tracks from any of the steering wheel controls, when using Bluetooth audio? Seems crazy there's no simple "Next Track" button, like EVERY OTHER car with steering wheel control has.

Inconvenient reaching over to the passenger side for the track skip button... Even with the iPod audio, it seems stupid the only way to change tracks is to scroll down to the next track and then hit the select button!

if you have the programable button on your steering wheel then you can set it to skip to the next track.

I guess so too. The non heated kind has a * button instead of the steering wheel heat button. That * is a function button- I used it to skip tracks on my 2013. My 2016 has heated s/w. I gotta reach over on the central console and skip tracks if I want.

Can't you do that using the left side arrow buttons if you select the yellow music part in the senter cluster?

I think you're out of luck there through bluetooth. I think the programable button is replaced with the heated steering switch.

On the iPod, I can only think of 2 ways without reaching over to the button by the volume.
    1. use the gauge cluster screen menu on audio and selecting the next song with the thumb wheel.
    2. With the center display on music, use voice command to select the next song via line number.

    Dumb, and dumber... LOL

Really irritating that they didn't give that more thought. Would be nice if you could just scroll the left-side wheel up/down to advance and rewind track...

It's taken them until the RS performance models to realize that Drive Select should be able to be done from the steering wheel, as well.

Resurrecting this from the grave, since this annoys the hell out of me.

So I dont have a heated wheel and I dont think I have a function button. Is there any way to skip a GD song?!

For the 2012-2018 A-RS 6/7 There were only three possible functions that you could have on the steering wheel. Most people have the * which is like a "wild card" button that allows you to select a few functions. Cars with the cold weather package got an icon of a steering wheel with heat radiating from it, which obviously controls the heated steering wheel. Some later RS cars without the cold weather package got a "Drive Select" button which sent you straight to the drive select menu and allowed you to toggle through different drive modes. The only way to skip a song would be with the * button if you have it programmed to skip tracks.

Unless your car is a later RS6/7, if you dont have the cold weather pkg (thus you dont have the heated wheel) you definitely have the * button.

I've always found this to be quite stupid. I have a heated steering wheel (which doesn't get as hot as I'd like). I listen to A State of Trance so it's usually 2 hours long of me not skipping so it's not a huge deal. But still seems like a massive oversight. There are so many buttons on the wheel I've literally never touched.

You can turn the steering wheel heat up with OBD Eleven or VCDS. I turned mine up a few degrees and its much improved!

I have a few things I want to change, this, needle sweep, etc. Do you pay for a license online, or?
