I recently bought a 99 Audi a4 1.8T quattro 5 speed with a blown engine. I've installed a replacement engine in the car with the intent to resell the car but I've realized how much I enjoy driving it.

That said, I have some general newb questions but I haven't found a specific thread that answers all of my questions. It appears the wiki is down as well

I'd like to get the most reliably safe amount of power from the stock turbo and components. This will be a daily in the winter. It won't be driven much during warmer weather. I want to keep it relatively cost effective. I'd like to increase the boost to the maximum amount the stock turbo and engine can reliably handle. Fyi turbo is in good shape (no shaft play) as well as the engine. Thoughts are a cheap manual boost controller to increase psi, suggestions? I know the ecu will need to be tuned (chipped or reflashed) to adjust fuel and timing to compensate for the additional boost. Which companies offer this and how much do they charge ballpark??
Again I'd like to keep it very simple. Stock exhaust, stock turbo piping, stock intercooler. Maybe add an aftermarket blow off valve (diverter valve) and a boost gauge. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
