Whelp, another B6 steering rack issue

So just got the news that I need a new rack. From what im reading ZF racks are the only way to go, but im curious if the B7 version of the rack is more reliable/interchangeable. Does anyone have any input before I hunker down and buy one? Indi shop wants to charge 2k for everything said and done, which I think is excessive.

I rebuilt the rack in Volvo with a kit from PSkits.com, and it was a no brainer, does nobody sell a kit with just the gaskets?
