    2016 Audi S3 build/mods

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Whats up guys! I recently picked up a mythos black Audi s3, and I'm pretty excited about it.
I'm planning to do some mods slowly and have it become my dream Audi S3. Already have somethings in mind on
what i am going to do, but wouldn't hurt to get some opinions or advice from some of you guys on here.

Heres what the car looks like now:

I also picked up the RS style grill from Emmanuele Design and received it about a week ago.

Also going to post a list of the mods i'm going do order:

    -RS style Grill
    -KW Coilovers
-Wheels(not exactly sure which ones yet, need some opinion)
-Front lip from Fareast japan (http://hitotsuyamagmbh.shop-pro.jp/?pid=86775404)
-Rear spoiler from Fareast japan (http://hitotsuyamagmbh.shop-pro.jp/?pid=94516914)
    -Miltek exhaust system
    -Brembo brake set
    -Euro headlights

What do you guys think? Let me know!

Looks like my car when I picked her up...so looking gorgeous!

Your plans seem pretty good. Not sure about that spoiler or lip but only because the pictures are so small and it's hard to get a real sense of how it looks without larger detailed pics. I would definitely recommend adding a rear sway or rear chassis brace when you do the coilovers. Stiffens the car up very nicely and makes it feel much more neutral through the corners. I have the Neuspeed rear sway (set on the less aggressive setting) and the Eurocode rear chassis brace on my car and love them both. Great mods that you'll definitely notice a difference in the handling with.

Can someone explain how this doesn't flag a TD1 or wouldn't be detectable by the dealership? I really want to try it out but I obviously am going to be paranoid they'll somehow know.

Are you set on the miltek system? If you go something like armytrix you can get the phone app interface to run off the obd module :) check it out

Fair enough haha, check out the turbo muffler delete from APR and the GFB DV+ are both great little affordable mods along with an air box. All of which you can do at home

I always wondered about APR's turbo muffler delete and GFB DV + Do these mods provide with some kind performance benefits? Better 0-60, throttle response etc? Unless these aftermarket parts result in better performance what is other reason that one should consider them? Thanks.

Muffler delete: (installed) holds boost while partial throttle and does not let it go until lift off.... Drive your car by barely giving it boost, look at the boost gauge, keep pedal steady, if u keep your foot at the same degree you will loose the boost you built up.... Think traffic and occasional sprinting .... Of course there might be other benefits but this is the most relevant and that you can prove... Keeps the car alert

DV: (waiting for it to arrive) sound (irrelevant), holds more boost (irrelevant since up to stage 2 the stock DV does the job), the most relevant is when you tune your car and have down pipe, the DV holds full boost and partial boost longer without escaping it right away thus better throttle response (assumption since i did not install the part yet but felt stock DV after stage 2 keeps psshing more and at almost any throttle input)

Stock DV is flimsy apparently, the after market option gives quicker boost recovery and is a stronger unit, I installed it mainly as a preventative maintenance piece. You will understand when you have both of them in your hands looking at them. Muffler delete apparently claims more power and better boost response, but you also just get a heap more turbo noise. Which is always great to hear while giving your car a thrashing lol. Looking at the diagrams of the stock compared to apr's one I would believe what they are claiming although i personally think would be negligible and I doubt you would notice it. If you had to choose between one or the other I would choose the DV +, you can hear how much quicker and cleaner it operates when you lift of under boost

I went with milltek turboback... Catless downpipe (apr tune a must due to check engine and worth it) and resonated nonvalved catback with black oval tips since they look like stock and performance junkie without the flashyness (ie nonresonated with catless really loud mine is subtle with a nice grunt).... Got a good price from USP and service (have not tried others though).... See drzero6 for free mods and sound clip on youtube

What up guys! This thread has been dead for a little bit, but time to bring it back to life with some updates and a few photos!

Just got the grill on today, and have two mods that I need to throw on. The OEM resonator delete and K&N Air Filter.

Also just ordered some bbs CH-Rs a few days ago, should be here by friday. Definitely will be taking some photos of them

Anyway enjoy some updated pics, I'm really digging the new grill!

Haha, I've been there. I live in the city and don't have a garage or driveway so I'm forced to use DIY car wash bays just like that one. I carry around my full detail kit in my trunk. People in line hate me when I pull out 2 buckets to do the wash...but whatever, I'm not putting swirls on my car for them. Ha.

Back on subject though: Your car is looking great. Any decision on wheels yet?

Yeah, that's exactly what I do too! But I go super late so no one bothers me. lol where do you live in the city?

I live in the Mission and work in Mountain View. I usually go to this car wash in Mountain View as it's pretty nice (and takes credit cards so no need to lug around $20 in quarters). If I go in the city I typically end up at Always Open Carwash right by 101. It's not the best, but it'll do.

Those CH-Rs are going to look great. Can't wait to see pics. We should do a meet up sometime. I've done a couple drives that were organized in the Nor Cal regional forum. Always fun but it's certainly hard to get one organized as people are flaky. Haha.

I'm down for that! I usually just meet up with my subie and GTI friends... Would be sick to meet more Audi drivers!

Quick question, you said you don't a garage and driveway. I do not either, do you use any locks on your wheels? I'm a little worried about my wheels because it's always parked on the street.

Quick question, you said you don't a garage and driveway. I do not either, do you use any locks on your wheels? I'm a little worried about my wheels because it's always parked on the street.
My car is normally garaged at work in South Bay. I really only drive it on the weekends so it doesn't spend a lot of nights in the city. When it is in the city I typically park on a major street so I don't worry about it. No wheel locks for me at the moment...though I'll be swapping the tires on the wheels here pretty soon for a track event so I might use that time to put splined bolts on.
