Help connection melted

My b5 s4 has been sitting since thanksgiving after driving it today I noticed the middle of the three plugs for taking off the lock carrier was smoking. What is this for

It's for something off of the rad support. Cut it off and solder in a new connector. Should be able to buy a generic connector with male and female parts

try to find out why it melted, because if you just replace the connector/wire, it's going to happen again real quick.

connectors wont melt just like that.

I def want to find out y it melted I just don't kno wat it goes to on the side of the radiator

Looks like one of the electric fans. Can't remember which is which, but one used a black and the other a brown connector.

If my memory serves me right that connector goes to your aux cooling fan.

That looks like the plug for the electric fan on the engine side of the radiator

I think the wire passes through the fan module under the driver frame rail. may be worth looking at that as well.
