Anybody going to watch the WEC race in September?
I might be making the trip down, tickets are yet to be released but I have been in contact with the circuit.
suggestions on where to stay? rental cars? etc.

    Thanks in advance.

I would book your hotel now! Anywhere decent as teams have already reserved most places. As far as a rental, go SilverCar. The Austin location has an Audi A4 fleet.

definitely will be doing SilverCar, will be looking into the hotel this week.
deciding if I want to go down solo, or ask a friend. My girlfriend and I came to the conclusion she will be bored out of her mind if I bring her

I went last year, stayed there all day. There were tons of empty seats
If u want cheap and good, stay in the round rock area, it's bit far but only takes about 30 mins to COTA via toll road
You can still go into Austin at night the day before

If you want spend money then stay downtown and spend $300+ per night but you'll be close to bars, get hammered and walk to your hotel

Book everything early then cancel later

Through the Audi club you can get the Audi Motorsport experience, costs $350 but, includes parking tickets for all 3 days and best part is all food and booze you can handle. It's a suite on pit row and you can go to any open seat via golf cart on the circuit. As for hotels, try the Marriott south Austin or anything close to it. It's close to downtown and close to the track, avoids some traffic as well.

    Thanks for the info guys!
will definitely look into the Audi Motorsport Experience, seems to be the full experience that I'm looking for.
I'm not much of a party person so I will most likely not stay downtown. I'm trying to book as much of the trip on points as I can due to the weak Canadian dollar.

I'm a fellow Canuck and need to go home to take advantage! The wec races are lightly attended to say the least. Bigger issue you will have with hotels is if the Texas Longhorns are playing at home. Last year the ucla Bruins were in town same weekend. City was packed! Book now before the schedule is released.
