Wow love the grille, I was sitting in the fence about getting the quattro grill or just the plan rs3 grille but it looks pretty badass.

I ordered a CF diffuser. Couple of issues though. It arrived in one piece, but had a slight crack on the underside by one of the exhaust cut outs. Easy fix, I have CF epoxy, laid some down and it filled the crack and you can't even see it now. Some of the tabs in the slots didn't fit securely and the edges would not sit flush within the bumper, so I had to modify those as well. The CF wasn't as thick so there was a gap and you could see the slots in the bumper for the tabs in between the diffuser and the bumper...So I pulled it back off and cleaned everything up and laid down some black trim seal and reattached it and taped it up overnight so it would sit nice and flush. I would give it and 8 out of 10 for fitment and a 10 out of 10 for finish.

Overall, it makes the rear end of the car more aggressive to match the rest of the car.

ECS Lightweight 2 piece rotor swap up front and STOP TECH rotor swap for the rear. The ECS 2 piece rotors shaved 4lbs off the stock rotor which lightened up the rotating mass. The rears were almost a pound from the slot and cross drilling. Overall happy with the look and the feel of the brakes. I can't really "romp" on them until the 500 mile mark to ensure proper bedding, but they feel a lot better already. I had planned on doing a full BBK, but after looking into it and the cost, I decided to go this route. I also found an OEM 4 piston Audi caliper that will bolt right up without any adapters or modifications...more on that later.

Thanks. Moar pics of....? Car? Brakes?

The front caliper I'm still working on...will give an update once I find out. But it should be an inexpensive upgrade for about 1/2 of a BBK.

Got to install the last piece of my IC set-up with the wifey's permission to open up a Christmas present early. CTS IC outlet pipe kit. Easy install, about 30-45 minutes once up on the jack stands. You can see the bottle neck on the stock unit as soon as it comes out of the turbo. Thinking of making the switch from GIAC to United Motorsports.

The things I like about GIAC - I have their dongle and the ability to switch on the fly = Stage 2 91 - Stock - Valet - Race 100+ .

However, I don't think they deliver the kind of "smooth power" that I keep reading about or hearing about with people using the UM RED FILE. Any thoughts or opinions?

Also still trying to decide if I want to go Stage 3 with with a CTS BOSS system or IMS kit..all of these kits are using UM tuning software and UM seems to be the "go-to" guys for the S3.

After going stage 2+, around 2200-3000rpms sometime the car would be "twitchy" and have a slight boost spike in this range in 1st and 2nd gear when accelerating. It would act like this maybe half the time. I thought it was a tune/software issue, maybe a misfire issue. The only missing piece of my current set IC up was the outlet pipe. After the install, the issue above has gone away and smoothed out the acceleration in that rpm range. You wouldn't think it would make that big of difference, but it did. I really don't know why I overlooked this part of the Ic system for so long, but it was worth it. I guess all the air trying to get forced out through the bottleneck in the stock IC pipe was enough to cause an "issue" in performance.

    Money well spent.

Car looks really good. Love the wheels and stance. Any new deets on the brakes you mentioned a month or so ago?

That will have to wait till later. I have a couple issues that need taking care of first. I threw 2 codes.... 2006- Intake Manifold bank 1 runner flap 1 stuck closed and 2015 solenoid for bank 1 inoperative or malfunctioning.

The crappy part is that I have way too much stuff done to the car, and if I take it in to the dealer, I think I might get flagged no matter what!!! Even if I reflash the ECU and TCU and throw the stock intake on...They will see the boost pipes and intercooler and "might" throw a TD1 my way. Talking to an Dealer Audi mechanic, Audi Corp is getting wise looking for other visual mods and not just relying on scanning for files for tunes. Anyhoo, this repair consists of a new OEM IM with solenoid and should be an easy swap. I could do I myself, but it takes some Vagcom coding to reset the TB and other values that I'm not aware of just yet. The good thing is that these are not harmful codes and won't hurt the engine until it's fixed, it will just affect the low end torque bit. Which I barely notice.

Found the culprit for the above codes: had a small vacuum hose back by the intake that was barely on and activates the diaphragm for the intake runner flap

Also...the little Fukker of a vacuum hose caused me a little headache after it was knocked loose during my install of the outlet IC pipes.

Ran some tests after the codes with the OBDeleven and found it barely attached under the intake pipe

Also took all of the trunk items out and wrapped every crevice with Noico sound deadener. I also did the hat shelf for good measure. Made quit the difference, I would say cut the sound/noise in half. You can still hear the exhaust, but it doesn't drown the cabin when "getting on it"

I bought the 80mil and its super thick and easy to apply. No odors either.

Been a little quiet lately. Just enjoying the car as it's almost done and just deciding where to put the finishing touches on at?

    Things yet to be installed:

    BFI trans mount
    SS brakes lines
Flush and replace brake fluid with higher temp Redline RL 600 synthetic
    Rear RED STUFF pads

The stock Audi caliper to swap over that I thought could be a direct fit was not. I would've had to make a custom bracket to get it to line up properly. and was not into chasing my tail and spending extra $$...BTDT.

I've been looking at the Neuspeed caliper. Neuspeed has always made great hardware for cars so....Since i already have the rotors all I need is the caliper.

I've also been looking at lightening up my wheels by a couple pounds.

I had some issues with the Haldex throwing codes. I had GIAC, but when I looked at my flash count it was up to 8 on the ECU. GIAC was not able to reset the flash count. Still being under warranty and UM has the flash counter reset tool, I swapped over to UM for my ECU. Flashed back to UM stock for both ECU and TCU and took it to the dealer to be checked out. They found "nothing wrong" with my Haldex clutch pump or in general. It's been 3 weeks of stock and the Haldex hasn't thrown a code yet. Reflash tomorrow to UM stage 2 RED FILE and UM TCU stage 3

It's been a while....got the AMS CF Intake for the S3. Install was fairly easy....finessing it into place with the front scoop was the tricky part. I had the CTS intake on before, but thought it made the engine bay look cheap like a Honda!!! The CTS was getting heat soaked with the metal sides and not much of a sealed unit letting hot engine bay air in!

The AMS CF is nicely done and it matches the ECS CF engine cover nicely! Cleans up the engine bay and looks awesome.

yep...the issue went away with warmer weather back in July and now just reappeared 2 weeks ago after local temps have dropped below freezing at night and only about 55-65 degrees during the day.

I have my codes and was going to do a video in slow motion to show that the Haldex clutch pump is bad for proof of front slippage so they fix it this time.

Just a pain the ass to get flashed back to stock go to dealer and then refresh back to UM.

Yes...you can see it there, but I forget how or where I saw it at...vehicle history...?

AFAIK - UM is the only the ONLY software programmer that can take your flash count down to ZERO. I had GIAC and my flash count was at 7 and could not be ZERo'd out with their software...flashed to UM and my car still has it's warranty intact.

Did the dealer care about all your hardware mods though? Or are they just looking out for software mods?

I asked Eurodyne and they said when you revert to stock map they take the flash count down to 1.

The dealer did not care about mods because they didn't affect the current problem which is the drivetrain/haldex....DP and exhaust were still on the car, swapped air box back to stock and engine cover too. When I left the first time they said "bring it back when you get the code again" and "you have plenty of warranty left on it"

I think the main thing the dealer is worried about is flashing the ECU and TCU etc....they know that even a simple mod like an intake requires an ECU tune...that is why its best to make it appear stock under the hood where they will look the most. A DP and exhaust do not require a tune....just a O2 spacer.

Thanks...Not much to update really. The car is exactly the way I want it. Hauls ass and looks really nice. Besides going Stage 3 and BBK, I don't know what else to do....?

    A20V200,

What were your thoughts on the ECS 2-piece calipers? Did they rattle or "clunk" at all? I have been eyeballing them, but would love to get some real world feedback.

Good luck with the sale, hopefully you can find the right person who will appreciate the work you did.

    Hey Thanks.

I like the rotors a lot. They are lighter than stock and look good. Not a peep from them. I would recommend using some better pads than stock. EBC or the likes.
