    C6 S6 Neeeeeeewb! MMI Questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello Everyone! I'm a long time Audi guy, but very new to the C6 S6. I just have a couple of questions concerning the MMI system: One, I have an extensive digital library, upwards of 50K songs and of 700 movies. Is there a way (interface) that would allow me to plug in a large hard drive and still be able to access media through the MMI? I'm not sure if any storage would have to be Apple compatible for the MMI system to read (play) the data (files). Right now, I just rotate between four iPod Classics. And two, have any of you "reprogrammed" your MMI system to allow the playing of DVDs/Blu-rays or videos via some other storage? Please keep in mind that I AM NOT AN I.T. GUY....therefore, I don't speak that language....wish I did, but I don't. Therefore, there's a chance that I may have no idea what you're talking about. However, could definitely find a person who does. As a musician needing more bottom end, I added an amp and a sub that have worked out beautifully, but that's the only A/V modification/addition to this point. Thank you so much in advance for entertaining a newb! Feel free to contact me at [email protected] as well....I'm not an expert at navigating Audizine. Thanks again and I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Thank you very much for your time, ichi d. I'm sure that information is out in the cyber world somewhere as well as included in more than one thread on Audizine, but I was just hoping for a quick bit of guidance. Again, thank you so much for your time! I'll try to locate a cable tomorrow!

why not just get an AMI cable and Tune2Air A2DP and then be able to stream any music you want regardless of your hard drive limit or where the songs exist? Also, you won't be able to watch movies through your MMI, as it exists currently. If you wanted to do that, you'd need add a lot to your existing setup and would be fairly involved.

Thanks for the heads up, sun_dance! I also enjoyed watching the "Eighty-Nine Year Old Chuck Yeager - F-!5 Eagle Honor Flight" video that was attached to yours! That guy was a game changer back in the day! Thanks again for your time! Hope you're staying warm, it's 1 degree in Indianapolis....ugh.
