    Question 2014 S4 or 2013 A6...need help deciding!

Always wanted an S4 (2014) ...BUT never expected to be so impressed with 2013 A6.

So here are some details and your input would be greatly appreciated...
    2013 A6 3.0, Prestige, B&O, 20", LEDs, Drive Assist, brushed Aluminum interior----38k. From independent, non-Audi dealer. Asking $39k

2014 S4, Prestige (includes B&O), S tronic, Sport Diff, 18" rims, Carbon inlays...10k. From Audi dealer, CPO. Asking $42k

I've always appreciated sporty cars and really like the S4 (except for the steering that has little feel and feedback) which I have test driven many times in the last 4 years. I consider it a nice design, inside and out, but a little boring. Brisk acceleration, crisp S-tronic shifts and a more useful drive select.

When I test drove the 2013 A6, I was shocked by how much nicer the design was. More interesting and "dynamic" exterior (especially with the LEDs). A MUCH more upscale, classy and more expensive looking interior. Nice acceleration, 8 speed Tiptronic (without paddle shifters), slightly bigger (but not needed).

So when factoring in each car's unique personality, features, cost, warranty, style, maintenance costs, etc., which 4 door sedan would you choose and why?

    TIA!

S4 is in no way the real sport car like many S4 owners want to believe (that's why it's mocked as God chariot) so I would take the A6 and find another real sport car with smaller size for fun drive.

If you can have only 1 car and you prefer sporty over luxury, S4 sounds like a better car for you.

I'd probably go A6, I really like the S4 but you will have more room and comfort in the A6. Your passengers will appreciate that too. You can always tune the A6 if you need more power, but the S4 won't get bigger or more luxurious.

The A6, in the 3.0T Prestige format, is one of the more surprising and underrated cars out there IMO. It's a whole lot of a car to get pre-owned for $40K or less. Some suspension and stage 2 tune, and you got incredible daily driver.

For those looking at pre-owned A6's I always strongly recommend the sport package simply for the 3 spoke steering wheel and the black headliner option. Those two things make the interior 10X better.

For that price on the a6 why not check out an a7? If you can get the a6 for $35,500.00 I like it.

Save 7 to 10 more thousand and get an S6. Now you have the best off both worlds. The S Car and more power!!!

Go for the A6. Quality, and refinement of the C7 over the B8 is reason enough to do so.
