    Whats it worth....general idea

Hey there, just trying to figure out what my car is worth...Been searching BUT with the B7 its hard to tell a good/fair price. I have a 2008 2.0 Avant with 66k miles. Timing belt, up to date on all service, brand new coil overs installed, JHM Test pipe, good tires, tinted all around, red. Clean title, paint is outstanding and interior is just about perfect (ok minus the broken center armrest I need to replace). Again, just seeing if its worth trading it in or selling outright (might be getting a Q7 for the dogs and family).
Thanks for any advice or ideas.
    Cheers!

I'm no expert but an avant with low miles, you should get at least 10, 11 grand.

With the modifications maybe more I don't know. I do know you'll probably be insulted by trade in value

You're always better selling privately. Your trade in amount will generally be based off typical wholesale auction values for a similar car. You never mentioned if it was an auto or manual.

On a side note, we just got a 2008 S-line Q7 with the 4.2 V8 to replace the wife's Corolla. I love it and her only complaint is the fuel mileage (18 mpg average with her mostly highway commute). I would look for one w/o the air suspension as it can be problematic and expensive to fix.

More importantly, whether quattro or not.

18 months ago I was offered 12k trade in by an audi dealer for my 2008 Avant 6mt Ti with 75k miles. It was laughable. I put if up for private sale (for a very inflated number, I'll admit) and was offered in the 17-18k range. Granted my avant is fairly rare, but still, the dealer trade in numbers are fucked. I know they would have done a quick detail on it and turned it around for 20-21k and sold it in an instant.

Either way, sale price varies considerably based on options and location. Seattle prices are crazy high, whereas east coast or SE seem significantly lower. Of course we don't have rust up here so thats a large part of it.

Thanks for all the input so far. I forgot to mention its an auto and quattro. Also has some other small items (oil catch can, roof rack with bike trays, air intake, etc). Im on the fence about selling it...figuring I might ask for 15k and see where that goes.

I think you are high on your price asking $15k. Here's a KBB just for a general estimate. I put that you had the cold weather package and s-line package. (just guessing) http://www.kbb.com/audi/a4/2008/20t-...=private-party Somewhere around $11000 is what you could probably expect to get. From a quick search there are several 08's in my area with around the same mileage going anywhere from $8k-$12k. Your modifications might increase the value to some people, but personally I think you will have a hard time getting $15k. But can't hurt to try.
