Better Looking Replacement for Rubber S4 All Weather Floor Mats

Since it is Winter, I removed my custom Lloyd's floor mats and put in the rubber S4 all weather mats. My problem with them is that right after cleaning them, as soon as you step on them there are footprints. After a day or two you have several footprints and dirt. I am very careful before I get inside the car, by stomping my shoes, scraping the soles on the pavement, taping the side of my shoes on the side of the vehicle, etc. I'm wondering what type of floor mat would look good, but serve the purpose of a Winter driving floor mat, but hide the dirt and such? Cocomats(sp?)?

I had the Lloyd's mats and then switched to the weathertech mats. I don't think there is anything you can do to avoid the footprints, grime, etc from building up and showing. The only difference with the two is that the weathertech mats are easier to clean. They probably show the grime a little more but it is nothing to take them out and wash them off. I've had mine for several years and they are holding up well. I also got the trunk liner.

I do not have them in my S4 but do have weathertech in my Tacoma and they are awesome!

The problem with a plastic/rubber floor mat like the Weather Techs is that they will still show foot prints and accumulation of dirt and such. My wife has them in her vehicle and I can't stand how dirty they look all the time. What about those cocoa fiber mats? Would they absorb water and, "hide", dirt, depending upon the color/shade of the fibers?

You wash and vacuum the floors in your house don't you? The floors in your car are probably more dirty then the house, you need to clean them. That's the dirtiest part of your car.

They make Lloyds mats that have a pattern on them. I had the patterned ones that did hide some of the salt and dirt stains but they didn't have very high edges to them so it didn't protect the carpet underneath very well. The new designs might be different. That's why I switched to weather tech.

What a revelation. I clean my mats once a week, and in between I usually pull them out and shake them to get the loose dirt off.

Agree. I have weather tech all around and in the trunk. I wipe them off every other day or as needed. I simply keep a mixture of Murphys Oil Soap and water in a spray bottle. I add just a little bit of Optimum no rinse to it to help float the dirt up and then use a set of microfiber rags I have specifically for this use and in 30 seconds they are like brand new.

I'm a stickler for a clean interior though. I think weather tech are a must for snow and salt areas. After a day of travels, even with clapping off my shoes, there's often enough water safely traped in them to soak a microfiber rag. I can't imagine not having them. They've been a go-to mat for my vehicles year-round for years now.

Not going to keep the slop from getting into your floors.
Carpet floor mats are not good in the winter... the rubber type is the best. Unfortunately they are not all that sexy looking... function over styling in this case...
Weathertech has nice brims to hold more slop protecting your floors the best... which is the reason you want them... if you don't like them looking messy then you just have to clean em more often... carpet mats also end up looking like shit in the winter.

Well, everyone has different tastes. I do admit, though, some of these cocoa fiber mats look like something by my kitchen door, ha-ha. But others look really good, and by the fibers and texture, appear that dirt wouldn't show up so easily, as in the case of rubber mats. As another poster pointed out, most floor mats to be used during the Winter months won't really look good, since most would be like the stock rubber mats that come with the S4, or the Weather Tech variety.
