Euro tow hitch peeps.

Hey all, anybody put on a euro tow hitch? I'm looking to build a custom receiver for my bikes and a trailer, I don't like the ones we have over here that goes to the spare tire. I saw one that had a really beefy inner and outer that could be an option, but I'm looking to bolt into the chassis rails like the euro hitch, but I can find anything about how they are actually installed. This is what we cam up with when we last worked on it almost 2 years ago.


I was then going to cut a 1/4 inch off of the bumper mounts then slide those in on top of it and those bolts would hold it in. It just didn't fit right and it hit the bumper. From what I've seen and read there is a piece that gets cut out of the bumper then the bumper mounts to the hitch, loosing the shock absorber. TIA.

Euro's mount from below so they are totally hidden which is much nicer looking I agree. I looked into them when I was considering an Allroad. There are a couple installs for that platform and should give you a good idea of what it looks like. Just Google it. Good luck.

I saw this earlier. The only way I know to pull the b5 bumper is by pulling it with the struts on, where the allroad you remove the cover off of the core.

Okay, I'm going to make a hitch on the bumper in place of the struts, then you put the bumper and hitch on at the same time.

late to the party, but here are the install instructions for the Westfalia B5-A4 towbar. should be the same as OEM as they manufactured it.

it replaces the shock bumpers and it bolts to the bumper where the shocks do. it curves around and apparently still fits under the bumper. i have one on order from the UK. we'll see.
