Direct Dynamic Mode Through Steering Wheel?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

After setting the steering wheel programmable button to drive-select, it cycles through all the four modes. Is it possible to program the button with VCDS so it selects Dynamic mode only, or - ideally - cycle Individual and Dynamic only?

I don't believe that's possible, at least without some sort of VagCom intervention. As far as I know the only way to directly select a drive mode is via the car menu on the screen.

The drive mode select button on the dashboard already does this?

The point is to set to Dynamic with one touch regardless of what driving mode is currently set to.

Yeah it would be nice if the Drive Select button can be set to 'jump' to the desired mode. Kinda like the BMW M button if you want the best performance.

Speaking as an A3 owner here - not sure if this is applicable to S3 owners of non AUS models, but doesn't a quick downward flick of the gear stick engage Dynamic mode?

I don't think that's how it functions. You can be in Comfort mode yet drive in manual or sport, for instance, but neither trigger Dynamic mode.

Dynamic mode (at least in the S3) is a separate entity from Sport mode when you shift down on the gear shifter. In Dynamic mode the steering tightens, the suspension firms up, the exhaust note changes, and the transmission switches into Sport to hold the gears longer. Simply shifting into S will only switch the transmission functioning.
