Recalls for GPS antenna?

Anyone heard of any recalls or TSBs for the GPS antenna? I have a 2015 S5, I have German maps loaded on it. The antenna went out, stopped picking up satellites, bought a cheap garmin external antenna and what do you know, started picking up satellites. Took it to the dealer here in Germany and they replaced the antenna, then charged me 600 Euro because it wasn't covered because I had german maps on a US spec car.

I had issues from day 1 with my GPS, it wouldn't pick up satellites if I parked in underground parking and would eventually get hopelessly lost.
The replaced the entire navigation unit in my case.
