I want to look at this car. Problem is that I live in Washington, the car is in California. I'm want to hire a shop to look at it for me. Want kind of things should I have them inspect. Cosmetically I'm not worried about it. Mostly I want a healthy block. If it rattles, no big deal, I can get new guides later. So I'm thinking compression test at least right? Thoughts? And why is this car for sale still This to me is a rare find.

I wouldn't pay more than $8,000-$9,000. Timing will fail between 100k-130k.

True, if the signs are all there. Which I will fix the guides if they need. Supposedly updated guides in the B7 right?

Really? Cause I'm at 143k on the original timing and clutch. Plus, it's 6mt avant. Price isn't far off at all.

I'd definitely would pay 8-9k…and then some! and yes i'd think it's somewhat rare too.White and third pedali'd say score if picked up in low teens! FWIW i just sold a 04 b6 57k 6mt avant in plain jane black for mid teens so i'd say this is a fair shake price wise.If it wasn't on the other side of the country i'd be checking it out

OP, this White Avant is posted on Audizine in the "Audi" Classifieds section. In case you were wondering or wanted to contact the seller easily.

If the owner did not repair the bumper damage, they likely did not maintain it either. Stay away.

I agree with this, it looks like a car that has a lot of deferred maintenance, a potentially expensive thing...

Find a good independent Audi shop to do the PPI. I bought my current S4 out of state and found the Indy shop by asking forum members on the regional forum. The seller was more than willing to take it to the shop for me. A compression check is probably not in their normal PPI routine, but I'm sure they will do it. Some shops are really good with taking pictures, video/sound clips, etc.

I personally do all the maintenance but I don't know how to do body work. I also backed into a wall (do not have back up sensors) and my scratches are much smaller than this car but I have no plan on fixing it but doesn't mean I skipped out on any maintenance.

This car has back up sensors and the seller still backed into a wall. I don't get that.

For some reason my back up sensors don't always work, so I wouldn't necessarily place all blame on the owner. And just because they didnt repair it doesn't necessarily mean they didn't take care of the important parts. They have done some recent maintenance it seems, so at least they did that. They are getting scarce with a 6spd in them, and white is a desirable color to some enthusiasts (not me personally).
It doesn't have every available option, but for the asking price listed I'd say thats a fair price already.

I would wonder if the car was actually hit or in accident instead of backing into something. That info would certainly affect sale price.

I would def ask for more detailed and close up pictures then the ones that I have seen in their multiple listings

I would just talk to him on here and offer a little less. Looks like a lovely car. I got a slightly older one with less miles for a few thousand cheaper than that just recently.

That one does look nice, just the high miles are a bit much for me personally
