Tail-light led burned out on cluster

    Hello,

My name is David and I have noticed this last week and was wondering if any of you have seen or fixed this issue. I have a B8 S4 and one of my LED's on the tail light cluster burned out (please see image below). Please let me know if there is any way to replace or fix this issue. My OCD is kicking in and it is really bugging me lol. Thanks in advance!

From my experience, only way to fix is to replace the whole thing. Dealers will replace if you have warranty.

Otherwise. I would suggest ordering one and replacing it yourself

You need to replace the whole unit, I had the same issue a few months ago...

I know a guy in Latvia that will hook you up for cheap, only took a week to get here :) Honestly, the new one had better fitment then the original, go figure.

Make sure you get the left side not the right side...

Yep. Replace. I had two burned out on my right side. I found a used one on eBay however for $80 or $90. So far so good.

It's pretty common. I had 2 bulbs out on left inner. Mine had defective seal. It was going out every time I washed my car or I drove/park in heavy rain then come back on when it's dried up enough.

I had AoA cover 100% of the cost.

Try spraying the electrical connector on the wire with deoxit. It's worth the $13 before moving on to a replacement light. I had a few lights intermittently go out on my mdx and the spray worked.

+1 actually forgot about this already...
I did this and got one bulb to come on, but it would go out again shortly after so I just said screw it. Definitely worth a try, depends on how bad the situation is but worth the couple $$ for a quick fix

I doubt the LEDs are going bad, usually it is the connections. I had the LED go out on my wife's Mercedes mirror, turned out the wire had cracked.

Last weekend I sprayed the connector with WD-40 and the light came back on!

The whole unit needs to be replaced...happened to mine. they told me though that there is a TSB for them both because the seals on there lets moisture in. might want to bring it in and have them replaced should be covered under warranty
