    Hello,

I was out running errands the other day and when I started the car it idled rough like it was going to stall but never did. Driving it home a few miles it drove fine until coming up to a stop light the idle dropped way
down, but never stalled. I checked the codes (cheap scanner) when I got home and it had a P0011 (Camshaft Position Actuator A - Bank 1 Timing Over -advan) The next day it started up fine. The idle sounded good until the point where
it would drop to a normal level but instead it would drop way down and idle rough. Couple hours late I cleared the codes and now have a P0016. Same symptoms as mentioned above. I drove it to my mechanics (just a few miles) and
they pulled the same code and the info is below.

That is the current state. Ironically...last year pretty much the same thing happened (about this time of year) I got the same code. Mechanic scanned and got the P0016. The car sat for a few days before they could get
to it and when they did get to it the car started fine and the code was gone. I drove it all late last winter, this summer, and fall and here it is again.

I know there are many threads on the P0016 and some are easier solutions than others. Cam position sensors comes up a lot on my search...is that the most common solution for this code?

The car does have 100K and I was going to sell soon since the broken guides stories have always scared me. I never heard any clicking or rattling at all and still don't.

Is it accurate the solution for this code is all over the map?
Can I rule out broken guides or stretched chain since I'm not hearing any abnormal noises?
From the codes below, the miss fires are on 1, 5, and 4 which is the order they fire...is that a clue? That means the miss fires are on both sides of the engine (at least at that time)

Sorry for the long post, but I thought the details might help. Here is what I got from my shop.

Sound like you may need carbon cleaned.
