Purchasing new headlight assemblies, have question

I am thinking about replacing my headlight assemblies. My current ones are old and dingy but they work fine.

I'm thinking about purchasing one of these two sets.

    Or

The top one being an aftermarket version and the bottom one being the factory replacement.

I'd like to buy a set and then crack them open to put some upgraded hardware inside them and maybe smoke them at the same time.

I'm just wandering if anybody has cracked their headlights open to upgrade the projectors on them and if they think it would matter if I went aftermarket on the assemblies or not as a result, since it's a $500-600 dollar difference in the two.

Search around theres bunch of threads with clean corner mods etc, if you are thinking about changing things up why dont you go with depo ones? Much cheaper and after re-sealing they work fine. Especially if you are thinking bout upgrading insides anyways

Apparently depo dont make the oem look ones for b7, they do for b6. I used them for my car since they were cheap and i wanted to upgrade projectors and ballasts/bulbs anyways. Id go with aftermarket
