I have bought my 2015 RS5 Cabrio in April 2015. No issues until I went back to the dealer in November for the first maintenance at 8,000km.

They then told me they thought there was a oil leak and they asked me to come back in a month. Went back December 2nd and left the car for one week. Also asked them to check my driver window as it was shaking when slightly open and also was not adjusting when it was colder outside. This means that in the cabrio, when you open the door, the window goes down so that it comes back up under the soft top when you close the door.

When I picked the car up one week later, they told me they had found a leak in a transmission seal and changed the seal. Also the window issue was solved. When I picked the car, it had 180km more on it than when I left it, and no gas left. Went to gas it, and I noticed a burning smell. The next week, the window also did not work on a cold day so had to drive for 30 minutes with the door slightly open.

I have been trying to reach the dealer since but no one has returned my call yet. Still have problem with the window even if I tried WD-40, still smell the burning from time to time and still don't understand why it took 180km to see a leak from a transmission seal.

Anyone had these issues ? Cannot believe I am having these issues with a brand new car of supposedly the highest quality !!

    Thanks for your help,

Sorry to hear about the troubles. No idea if those are common problems, but I'd suggest going to another dealer for service as it appears yours is causing a lot of frustration. Not being able to get you in for a month is not acceptable, and them not returning your calls is worse.

Seals leak. That is life. Once they replaced it they probably drove it plenty to make sure the leak was fixed. How pissed would you be if you had to drop the car off twice for the same seal? You'd probably cry about it and claim Audi is the worst ever. The burning smell could be residual oil burning off (I don't know what was leaking or where), or maybe a penetrating lube burning off of the exhaust.

As far as the window, there is no excuse for that shit. FWIW the window dips on both the coups and the verts.

Sounds like you need to find a better dealership. Issues on new cars happen. I had a transmission leak as well that was discovered during the 5k miles service after I drove 4000 miles in Europe. In my case the transmission oil filter came loose and damaged the oil pan in the process. It took two visits to get it resolved, because the first replacement oil pan got damaged during shipping and we didn't notice until a few days later. The dealership even flew in an Audi Engineer for the second appointment to make sure it gets resolved properly this time. This stuff happens, but if you dealership sucks then it just gets worse, so make sure you have a good relationship with a solid dealership, so any issue get addressed properly.

I have the window issue. It seems that it doesn't close all the way when I sit in the car and close the door. I can always make it go up a tad with the button. It's not a huge deal interns of rain getting in but it does create more wind noise getting into the car. I mentioned this to the dealer and the issue seems to resolve itself j the summer months although it is not he ideal resolution.

What Super is saying is spot on. I have a 2014 and have note had any leaks. Most of what i see in your post is about a crappy dealer!

as for the window, push the switch to lower it and hold it for an extended period (I'd say 10-20sec) once it is all the way down. Then pull the switch to raise it and hold it for an extended period once the windows is all the way up. I believe this may recalibrate the motor. Solved the same issue on my 2 MBs. Not sure if the same applies to Audi, but it's worth a try.

The glass can sometimes get frozen to the seal when the heat from the cabin melts the snow which ends up re-freezing in the seal area. I have a small plastic scraper that i gently scrape along the glass to try and break the bond, this must be done with caution as to not damage the seal. This is not a unique problem, like NPuter mentions, re-calibrating the motor may help.

Today, I decided to write to them and I got a call 20 minutes later !

Service manager told me that multiple road tests were required as the issue was hard to find, each time they had to drive enough so the engine came to the right temp.

For the window, they will put A product in and leave me a can of it to apply on the rubber on each door. This should fix it. They will also tighten the windows.

For the burning smell, they will check that there is no cleaner residue.

They will come to my office, pick the car up and loan me one. I will see how that goes and let you know.

    Thanks for all your comments.

Frustrating yes but it sounds like they R trying to "get it right" Give them a chance & see how it goes. U may have a need for them in the future so remain calm, polite, but resolute. I've had 3 Audi Cab's over the last couple of yrs. (07 S4/10 S5/13 RS5) all CPO, but never had this window issue. Keep us posted & nice to C another "Cab" RS5 in a colder weather climate. Is this (like mine) your DD? Pic's ? I'd post some pic's of mine but it is a mirror image of Hippyshakes minus all the sexy mods so no need.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. If it makes you feel any better, my local dealer (the only option within ~180 miles) can't even correctly order parts when I give them the factory part number. They've done work on my car twice, and both times they missed multiple completion dates that they provided. The thought of having them touch my car again fills me with dread.

Can you let us know what product they give you for the window seals? The windows on my 08 S5 iced up a few times last winter, and I was unable to find anything I could apply to the seals to prevent it. We haven't had much ice this year, but that could change very soon.

    Thanks, and good luck.

I've had good luck with silicone spray. My windows froze twice last week so I bought a can and sprayed along the bottom seal. It is -12 celsius here and my window hasn't frozen again. I will do all the rubber seals on the car when i get time, works well.

I was going to get some of that Gummi Pflege stuff when I had my 3000GT Spyder, to try to revive the roof seals. I ended up getting a tube of Krytox instead. That crap was $45 for a 2oz tube. It's similar in function to the Gummi. I've still got it. Maybe I'll try that on my seals and see how it works with the icing situation. I tried a silicone product and it didn't seem to help.

I had a couple issues with mine during the first year of ownership and a crappy dealer made it way worse.

My sunroof made all kinds of noise.

Fuel pump had issues and CEL wold come and go.

The dealer I bought the car from always gave me the run around and I almost sold it.

It took the car elsewhere and they fixed everything in two days....so glad I didn't sell.

Unfortunately, it's very easy for a bad dealer to make an entire manufacturer look good. I already know that I'm going to have to take my car up to Denver, CO to have it serviced. The dealership down here used to be great, but then they changed service managers and it all went down hill. Plus, they're owned by a company that I used to work for and hate with a passion, so I have to bite the bullet and drive 70 minutes north.

Just want to let you know that the dealer came to my office to pick up the car and checked it throroughly for the problems and brought it back the next day in exchange for a demo car he left me.

He explained that they had to do multiple road tests as the problem was hard to find and they had to bring the engine in temp each time, therefore the number of kilometers. They checked the windows and applied a product preventing them to freeze, also gave me a bottle of the stuff I should apply once a year.

The burning smell was caused by leftover cleaner on the engine which they removed.

I am now happy again, still wonder about the number of kilometers, but will let it pass for now.

    Thanks for the comments.

Why are you still fretting about the miles? They had to make sure it was in fact leaking, then they had to make sure it was no longer leaking. Why do you find that so hard to believe?

Clean first and then silicone spray all rubber seals before and during winter will ensure a good seal and prolong their life.
