Your new key's IMMO hasn't been recoded to your car's IMMO. You can't just pair the key in VCDS and expect it to work.

Might have to hook it up to VCDS or a scan tool that can read ECU codes and clear the safe code. I had to do this with my B6. Some how I lost connectivity with the key and the safe mode wouldn't allow me to start the car no matter what I did. Once I cleared the immobilizer code it fired right up.

Ok so it seems like I forgot the "pill" in the old key fob and that's what kicked in the immobilizer. Can vag com clear the the safe mode? I have the Scan Tool Pro from ECS.

Would you know the steps to clear the safe mode in the menu of my Scan Tool Pro that i bought from you guys? I'm at the dealer right now and want to try it before I spend a whopping $154 for no reason.

You need to put the old pill in the new key
Once that is done then you may need to lear the code.
But don't bother clearing anything if you have not swapped over the chip/pill

    The V-checker?

When you scan for ECU codes it should just pop up. It will say something about the immobilizer. Just go in and clear that.

    Hopefully the video helps!
