SQ5 rear diffusor on Audi Q5

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anyone successfully converted their S-line Q5 rear bumper to the SQ5 rear diffusor. Are there any other differences in the Q5 –S-Line and the SQ5 besides the badges.

Im thinking of pulling the trigger on a SQ5 3.0TDi but I like the look of the SQ5 rear diffusor.

    The bumper is identical.
So you only need the complete rear valance/diffusor.
for all the V6 engines, the exhausted is identically lined up, so SQ5 rear mufflers fit the standard 3.0tfsi, 3.2fsi, 3.0tdi

I have rebuild my 3.2fsi to a complete SQ5 rear, with no issues! :)

    Thanks HC,

As for the actuall mufflers, do you think I could get away with only changing the tips? That would save a lot cash.

I priced the rear diffusor in Germany(my location) and it appeas to cost about 200 euro which equals narly $225. On ecs they are $525.

You'll have some trouble getting the tips to align properly. The tailpipe/tip coming out of the muffler is skewed outward a bit, while the stock tips themselves go in. It's not impossible, but definitely some extra work on behalf of who's doing the welding, and you may be in a hunt to find tips that will work. I swapped out mine with 4" ones, and this pic gives you an idea of what I'm talking about....you can see that the tips aren't centered in the openings.

    Good luck...

I would go for a aftermarket SQ5 replacement muffler as the OEM SQ5 tfsi could be hard to find (at least here in europe)
As mention above, the Q5 tips does not align with the SQ5 valance, so this is not an easy fix.
I have seen alibaba tips that can be mounted for an sq5 look
A big plus for SQ5 muffler or other aftermarket, is that you will end up actually hearing your V6!

Here's a pic of the muffler and valance, after removal of the OEM tailpipe/tip:

I thought I had a pic of the tip itself, but I couldn't find it. Nonetheless, this gives you an idea of how the exit from the muffler isn't centered with the opening in the valance.

Sadly i dont have any in progress pictures.
But i bought OEM SQ5 3.0 TFSI rear mufflers and the complete rear valance.
I replaced the rear valance myself, this was pretty straight forward.
The mufflers was i direct fit, these were changed in 15-20 min.

The look is much nicer and the sound is awesome.
Not too loud, but i significant improvement. The best part is the gear change pops and grunts.

The mufflers themselves, like the internals? I have no idea
But i know for sure that they are interchangeable, the SQ5 mufflers is a direct fit to the 3.0 tfsi, as long as the rear diffuser also i changed

    Great Info guys.
My interests are to take a 3.0Tdi and change the rear to the SQ5. I will have to speak with my welder. He kinda owes me :)

Ive seen him put a duel center muffler and custom tips on a VW Touran! I dont know how he did this but his skills must be on par because you cannot see that its aftermarket work. I hope he can do the same for me.

check ebay. rear valance, chrome/black trim and trailer hitch cover. you also need to consider painting the PDC because these are different color. the SQ5 valance is lighter gray.
I have plasti diped my PDC sensors.

Im looking to do the conversion as well.

Is this a good option for sq5 rear valence? The Sline option is about 800 bucks.

    http://europrice.us/rear-bumper-pack...-post-facelift

Here is another expensive carbon fiber option

    https://carbon-designz.com/audi-sq5-...-diffusor.html

From my understanding any sq5 exhaust should be a direct fitment to the q5 3.0t as long as we have the sq5 rear valence?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

I bought a secondhand SQ5 exhaust and intend to replace only the Q5 3.0T rear pair of resonators and leave the exhaust valves open. It appears that the center muffler is the same on the SQ5 and 3.0T.

    Is this your understanding?

Did you hook up the valves or did you just leave them open?

Did you do any programming to get the gear change pops and grunts? Do those occur only in sport ode?

Not possible to hook up the valves on my 3.2 fsi, so the valves is always open.
Awsome sound without any issues really, and yes, always open - always gear pops
The mid muffler is the same, no need to change. You could consider changing to maybe supersprint mid muffler or magnaflow

Is the S-Line diffuser the exact same on the 3.0T and the TDI? Meaning do their stock exhaust tips line up the same? I am interested in purchasing a carbon fiber diffuser but I only see options for the 3.0T S-Line or SQ5.

Anyone use the flat bottom Q5 exhaust tips with the SQ5 diffuser? Thinking it might be a good looking and unique option to have quad flat bottom tips.
I really don’t like the look of single round pipes on the Q5 but I do like the stock look. Would love to have quad tips though
