Are there upgrad foglights available for b5 a4?

The current ones on my audi are really screwed up, along with the windshield.. like they've been sandblasted over the years. The windshield I'm replacing; it's majorly cracked from the p/o slapping a wiper down. But it seems the OEM fogs are glass, which means i"m not sure if I can sand them down and slap lamin-x on them?

In any case, are there aftermarket upgraded housings I can buy that illuminate better than stock? It seems the stockers aren't terribly wide or far out.

I guess I didn't know the oe fogs were glass. You can grind down glass lights but from what I've seen it doesn't really do anything compared to plastic.

I'm not POSITIVE the stock fog-light lenses are glass, but knocking on them they sure the hell feel like it.

The stock lights are glass faced, and there is a DIY about refinishing glass foglights on a BMW, it involves hours of sanding with different grits and finishing with a heavy glass polish. Give it a google, it's possible

And there aren't any aftermarket fogs no

I think the B6 guys were retrofitting B5.5 Passat projector fogs or some-such thing. Should be able to do the same thing on a B5. I mean, it's a pretty simple affair, as long as the housing fits within the space and you can figure out how to make it stay there, you can do whatever you want.

Ihave the RS4 bumper so not a very general test bed, however most oem fogs have 2-3 support bolts.

Ive been planning on putting some Matchbox bixenons in my OEM rs4 fogs but havent had time. I might try retrofitting some LED fogs.

I bought a set of DEPO fogs. They are great quality for the price.

I did mine years ago on my first B5. I think I put them in the oven at a low temp., something around 100 degrees and the lense came right off. Used 1500 grit sandpaper and some sort of polishing compound on them. Glued them back together with black RTV.

So if I were to refinish the stock housings and upgrade the bulbs, are they a decent setup? They are horribly sandblasted right now.
