    Replacing motor in 06 2.0t quattro automatic with an engine from an 09 cab cvt.. help

    Hi Guys
    my motor is toast
    i found a 2.0 from a 2009 b7 a4 cabriolet CVT. will the motor be a direct swap ? thanks

    Im not 100% but I think thats a TFSI engine and I dont think they are compatable.

    Assuming the engine is a BWT, then yes it should be a direct swap.

    Yup should be the same. The b7 cab ran until 2009.

    I thought I read in this forum that the pilot bearing area is different between auto and CVT/Manual.
    Maybe you can go CVT/Manual/Auto crank to Auto trans?
    But not Auto crank to CVT/Manual trans?

    Someone with direct knowledge should chime in.

    The manual/cvt crank will work fine in a tiptronic car, but a tiptronic crank will not work in a manual/cvt car. I'm not entirely sure a flywheel would fit on a tip crank.
