why that price range????? Carbonio failed with their 400$+ price point for little to no performance gains. Im sorry but this is why i went the custom intake route for 1/3 of the carbonio intake price.

However that cone filter seens promising, is it dry-flow or oil based?

I would be able to justify the cost of these if they were CARB approved and that little metal piece had the EO# engraved. Very nice fitting piece though. Seems like the better alternative to Carbonio if you had the expendable income for minimal gains. Regardless ECS makes great products!

If you guys sell that CF cover separately I'd be interested. I bet a bunch of others would be too.

It is a reusable oil based filter.

Unfortunately the carbon lid is not available separately from this kit.

Is the kit available without the TIP?

Unfortunately not. This TIP is made specifically for our heat shield and intake assembly. A standard TIP would not fit because our intake changes the location of how the MAF sits to allow for the smoothest path possible for air flowing into the turbo.

Bit of a shame that the kit doesn't come as a split out part - the turbo inlet hose for example many people who'd be interested in something like tihs already have.

I don't think their "regular" turbo inlet hose will work on this kit and vice versa since the location of the maf is slightly altered as per post 12.

Turbo inlet hose is different than the one we offer for the stock air box.

    Gains of 5WHP and 5WTQ

The regular hose that they recently released will not work with the intake setup. It just sucks that many of us just purchase that hose for $50 and now have to scrap it. I was also disappointed in their price point on this. The APR setup in my opinion is overpriced for what it is and the minimal if any gains you get. I was hoping that by them branding their own setup, they would offer it at a better price point. Much like the B7 exhaust setup that you guys now offer and I love every time I get in my car.

you guys should make a gloss black version of this intake rather than carbon fiber....should drastically lower the price for those that dont care about 'weight reduction' in their airbox lol

I honestly hate to say it but once I'm finished with all other mods I may find myself picking up one of these for the final engine bay touch up. I really like the way this piece makes the engine bay look like one of those you would find in a flagship model or exotic car. I'm sure they reconstructed it to sound better than a vacuum cleaner

It definitely allows you to hear the turbo and diverter valve more. And not in a bad way.

I'm going to be that guy, you can get the carbonio intake from APR right now for $300 because they aren't going to be making them anymore.

I was fortunate to pick up my carbonio for a really really cheap price. I replaced the filter with a K&N. This intake will suffice for now but it's the fitment of ECS that has me blown away. I'm aware that intake gains are a waste of cash as a performance upgrade but if there's nothing else left to do with your car...why not make your car look/sound better? I'm comparing the pictures between this and my engine bay and it's makes the carbonio look like a knockoff. If only the price wasn't so outrageously high I'm certain this product would be flying off the shelves.

Where are they $300? I looked on the APR site and they were normal price? I had assumed ECS would brand their own and be at a lower price point of around $300 which I would have jumped on but not for the crazy price they want.

Yea I looked too and found nothing for 300. But I'm with you I was banking on the ecs intake being more competitive on pricing, guess not.

This is what I was running at one point. Fits just like the carbonio updated filter and not that foam-style element.
