Well...the B6, B7, and B8 chassis all have successful "what did you do" threads -- figured we could kick this one off a little early!

Hopefully some of our European friends can share with us while we wait...

well somehow I fucked up the title...apparently we can't edit it either.

If Mr. Moderator wants to change the title, that would be much appreciated...

What did you apply to the corner markers? And did it require removal to do so? I think tinting them is a must, but nice to at least have them outside of the headlight housings.

The shop uses a heavy-duty film with an adhesive back; it's made to be applied externally. They had two different shades.

If I had to guess, they're Vossen's. Looks to be one of their forged series wheels, although that design doesn't look familiar. They're going to look sexy on the B9

They're Raywell Design wheels...an Audi tuning company from the UK. I bought them used; they were originally on the AZ Project TT. I'm getting them mounted this weekend.

Beautiful! Would you mind telling us precisely what was done to the corner markers? Applied by you or a shop?

@ fungke and @ dbuxton13 : I had a local shop apply a smoke foil to cover the amber side markers. Easy to do yourself too if you have the foil. Without the yellow, the car looks much nicer and even now.

Looking to plasti-dip the grill black. Anyone have any tips on removing the grill or simply taping off all the excess areas?

    New HRE wheels

    [IMG][/IMG]

Picked up my new A4 prestige -Manhattan grey- last week and decided to upgrade to these 19" HRE wheels -color of wheels is Anthracite (had to order them over a month before my car arrived). Liking them so far, now if I could just get rid of the unfortunate wheel gap!

Finished up tinting the taillights and front orange markers. All the badges are now gone too, including the center caps on the wheels (I like to keep people guessing lol)

Don't worry the rings on the grill are molded into it so they survived.

Wow, one month old and this happens. Luckily and hopefully, your car will be good as new in a month. I have posted about this on the Macan and Audi forums - with the increase in distracted drivers, poor drivers, inconsiderate drivers, wanna be racers, etc, it really has taken much of the fun out of driving. I have been driving in and around NYC and NE/NJ for over 40 years, so congested driving is not new to me but have never seen such poor driving as in the last few years. There is one stretch of road in NYC - FDR drive to the Harlem River Drive into the GW Bridge. I drive it 3 x a week and on that one 3-4 mile stretch alone I have seen about a dozen or so accidents in the last 5 months - as recently as last night, mostly all rear enders, some more serious.

To be fair that is a HORRIBLE stretch of road that is in horrible condition. New Yorkers are also horrible tailgaters and weavers so rear ending other people is usually a direct result of that. Rear Fog lights come in very handy as a warning for tailgaters to back off when too close.

Absolutely correct - the worst 3 mile stretch I have ever driven on, after that, 95 into 80 into Garden State Parkway is a pleasure. The problem is many drivers don't appreciate the fact that the road is twisty, lanes are often unmarked and very narrow and use better judgement/more caution. A couple of months ago, I was in the center lane and if I wasn't white knuckling it and extremely, extremely guarded, the same exact accident would have occurred as the driver in the left land zipped into my lane and would have smashed my R side. I had to jam on the brakes and luckily I wasn't rear ended.

Condolences man, nothing like buggering up a brand new machine.

Just curious, is your car equipped with Auto Sense or whatever it's called? Would that (or any other of the available safety 'assist' features) have prevented your incident?

Yes, but only if the other car would had been in front of me. Its the only way the camera senses if there is going to be an accident, it will give you a warning first and then if there is no actual braking from the driver it will brake by itself. In my case the driver switched lanes from left to right as i was about to exit express lanes on to regular traffic on i95 doing about 65mph... maybe the only thing that helped me was the steering assists that doesnt let you oversteer and maintain in lane. We both spun out of control after the impact, i was able to control the car but the other driver crashed against the wall.

Update: Insurance determined the car was a total loss (damage on the firewall). Im still fighting them to get all the money i can from them to get a new car. Ive driven the rental car longer than the A4 :(
