I would think the shift handle would be universal to all models with a side lever push (9 o'clock) . I know that there are methods to "turn the shift mechanism" for those with central push (12 o'clock) as well.

Is this steering wheel thicker than the standard A4 one?

Yes, there was a recent thread that documented an increase in thickness from the standard A4 wheel. Nice upgrade, particularly with the paddles. And in perfect condition!
