Used OEM projectors with broken "top flap"

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I found a set of used OEM projector headlights for sale. He says they both have a broken "top flap" as he calls it. Anyone think they know what he is referring to? Is this a big deal that would prevent them from being installed and aimed properly? Just trying to get an idea if these are worth it or if I should just keep looking for a set in better shape. Thanks

Believe he is referring to the top tabs. Common problem. Here's the from Audi 8E0 998 121 B. If the other 2 tabs are it shouldnt effect the assembly moving but so much

He is probably referring to the upper tabs. As long as the the housing is not cracked, you can purchase repair kits, that will also include the side tabs

So I ended up picking these up. I needed 2 replacement wheels that I was buying off the guy and he had the headlights too so I took them. Didn't get to do as much research on swap as I would have liked so hopefully I got as good a deal as I think I did.

    Got these for $200.

looks like thats the harness I need right?

Great deal and if they came with ballast and bulbs, amazing deal!

Get the Uro tabs on ECS, they're cheaper than oem. They used to be 20$ but I just checked and they're 30.95 each now.

Or do what i did. I cut off the tap from my previews headlights and glued them suckers on my new headlights with a glue gun and gorilla glue. Came out perfect, it beats paying like 30$ for repair taps that you have to trim and fit on the headlights either way.

Thanks for the replies. They did come with ballasts and bulbs. I dont really feel like installing them out in the cold so I'll probably hang onto them until spring. Plenty of time to get a tab repair kit but I was also thinking about cutting the tabs off my halogen housings and seeing how that goes for a while

You already had an amazing deal on those, 61$ to do it the right way is not much.
