This car was my daily driver up until about 2 months ago when I got into a little fender bender. I've been debating either fixing it up or parting ways and getting a truck.
Here is the recent maintenance that was performed at 100k
- Full timing belt job
- New coil packs
- New mass air flow sensor
- New spark plugs
- Control arms/tie rod ends
Modifications:
- Replica RS4 grill
- HID headlights (surprisingly the drivers side actually still works)
- Silver mirrors (looks like OEM RS4 mirrors)
- LED license plate lights
- Test pipe / cat delete
Details of the accident:
The damage is centered on the driver side with the following components damaged and needing to be replaced:
- Fender
- Hood
- Wheel well liner
- Windshield reservoir
- Power steering reservoir (brackets broke off but it's still containing the PS fluid)
- Head light
- Core support
The car still drive and did not leak any fluids other than the windshield washer fluid. Air conditioning still works and it drives straight (albeit it does need an alignment due to me doing the control arms a week prior to the accident). Check engine light is on but that is due to the test pipe. I priced out the parts to repair the car and it came out to $500 at a local salvage yard. Realistically, you could slap on the salvage yard parts and have nice running A4 for under $2000. Due to the accident the car is now a salvage title so it will need to be inspected prior to being driven on the road.
