7/31/2016 UPDATES - So I was told it is better to amend the original post then to keep updating it at the bottom as new posts. (great advice and still growing in the forum realm of things)

So I have added a few things in 2016.

So I start my Audi journey on the Audi site. I really like the Crossover feel and look, so I start with the Q5 and then realize nahhh, need power so I look at the SQ5. I go through the configurator and it ends up looking like this.

    So I order it.

I toke ownership of this awesome machine on September 25th (3 days before more birthday). I ordered it with Premium Plus, Black Optic, Carbon Atlas Inlay, Black/Magma Red Fine Nappa Leather & Red Brake Calipers. I wasn't really thinking it needed much more, but as a friend of mine said there is never enough when it comes to cars and motorcycles. So I started my journey with first getting Ceramic Pro Gold done by Arkham Shine in Milford, CT literally a few days after I picked it up.

So I think it's looking real clean now, but somethings missing. It needs a better stance. So I go out an order KW HAS, 034Motorsport X-Brace & Drivetrain mount insert package. I speak with a few friends and call some places about who they think is the right place to work with on this installation and astoundingly everyone says I should see Danek at Eurotech Motorsport. So this is how that ended up.

A few weeks go by and I end up at the New Jersey Motorsport Park in Millville, NJ. And this is what ends up happening.

Now I have the racing bug. So I go and order a few more things (AWE Touring Exhaust with non-res downpipes and Roc-Euro Intake) to finish off my 2015 installs. Again we end up at Eurotech for the install and we get this.

If anyone is curious to how the exhaust sounds, it literally sounds exactly like this video done by AWE.

What is really cool is the Roc-Euro Intake sounds exactly like this video. Although it's an S4 in the video, the sounds is dead on to my SQ5.

So I think I'm done for a few months. I am looking to do a Stage 2 upgrade in Apr/May 2016, but not totally sure which vendor to go with. Any thoughts from others I'd love to hear their thoughts on this.

Lastly sometime before summer hits I'd like to get some new wheels. Just not sure what will be good for the track and daily driving.

    Hope everyone joys.
    ---

6/21/2016 - Stage 2 APR Tune done: My post on this can be found here. Please don't read to much into my rant about the Dyno tune. It is what it is and I still don't have a good base dyno to compare to. There is also a recording of one of the runs and listening to that awesome AWE exhaust.
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...m-questionable
    ---

6/27 & 6/28/2016 - 2nd track event with the car. Was awesome to get out on the track and see how it holds up to the "P" cars. All in all it was a blast. Actually got moved up to yellow group after this. Just holding my own in a 4200 lb crossover. There are some really cool pics in the post of the track time on top of a video.

    7/29/2016 - Front Update
Here's what we all start out with for most of us SQ5 peeps

Box arrived from China on 7/19/2016

I think it was decently packed and protected part 1

I think it was decently packed and protected part 2

    The unwrapping ahhh!!!

AND THE NEW LOOK (AGAIN huge shout out to the guys and gals at Eurotech Motorsports in Mahwah, NJ doing an awesome job on the change out of the grill)

De-badged the rear and re-did the rings in black to match the front (and yes that is my next door neighbors new S3 he bought because of me)

Until the next update I hope all still enjoy.

looks great! can you post a full rear pic? i too have a daytona SQ and am considering AWE with diamond black tips

as far as tunes, you're probably good with any of them. that said a member just ran an 11.9 with the apr stage 2 + pulley. no times for other shops yet. fwiw, i was between giac, apr, and unitronic (especially as you can reflash to stock at home with unitronic) but after seeing how strong the apr runs i think ill be going that route.

You ordered it with 21" wheels and they gave you 20" wheels instead?

Nice! I'm on my second SQ5. Why did you not get the 21" wheels pictured on your web-build? I have all the 034 stuff, and an APR stage 2 tune. It's never enough, so I'm about to go with the double-pulley setup discussed in that B8 S4 thread. If that's something you think you may want in the future, then wait for a month or two to see which of the tuners release the dual-pulley tune. APR and I think another one are currently working on one. I'm hoping APR releases it because APR lets you upgrade for free!

Like "14S4GWM" said. If you order the "black optics" package it downgrades it to a 20" 5 spoke. I didn't know that, but when I received the car with the 20" I wasn't unhappy, because I knew I was going to change them anyway. I really need a great track and daily driver wheel set. I haven't come across anyone who's doing it yet, so looking for feedback here.

As for the stage 2 upgrade I agree with most. Hence why I'm holding off till around Apr/May. I'm hoping APR like "SQive" mentioned will release a newer double pulley. Fingers crossed.

Arin from APR announced this week on the S4 platform forum, that if APR releases a tune for a double pulley, they'll make you buy a pulley from them...so it will be another $550 like the supercharger pulley.

I was the same way. There was one year, or maybe it was just the European version, that got the 21"s in black rather than titanium. I already had new wheels so I didn't care much either. Jomama229 bought my OE wheels and I'm running the Stasis 21x10 et30.

I've tracked both SQ5's, but I haven't got any pictures for the Sepang. My next track day is January 25th, where Audi Club Lone Star is having an official club track day, so I'm hoping to get some pictures of it. There are track pictures on here of the Monsoon: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...acking-the-SQ5

BTW, APR is only making a tune for the double-pulley setup. I installed the JHM lightweight over-drive crank pulley well before APR cracked my ECU version. Then, I still had to buy their SC pulley for the stage 2 tune. Now, I have a $500 paperweight. I started researching the feasibility of running both pulleys. That's when I found that thread in the S4 section. So, as soon as (if) they release the double-pulley-specific tune, then I'll have the SC pulley installed and then be stage 2+(?)

Congrats! Looking really good. We have many of the same mods. I have the BO pack, but also ticked the box for the 21" wheels.

Happy to help you with wheels when the times comes I cannot think of a better wheel for the track and daily than a TE37 Ultra :)

Those are definitely inline with what I was thinking. Very happy to hear your first thought is them. What sizes front/rear would you recommend?

I'm a fan for sure. Especially when you consider the the value. If it were mine, I'd run a 20x10 ET25 square, but there is also a 20x9.5 ET25.

What is you opinion on doing x10s on rear and 9.5s on front? Or would you do x10s all around? I hear so many different aspects on this. I'm guessing this is personal preference and I'm sure with x10s all around it makes it easier for tire changing compared to having front & rear different.

I really see no benefit at all, unless you'd enjoy a flat profile up front, vs a more concave rear. I ran the Ultra on my A5, and simply ran a 5mm rear spacer to give a bit of a staggered look. Swapping tires on wheels makes me nervous as-is, and having to do so only to rotate would really bug me.

That doesn't mean squat. You can get the 21s with black optics. I'm just making sure he didn't get screwed as he indicated he ordered the pictured car (shown with 21s), but his actual delivered car shows the black optic specific 20" wheels.

No, not true! There are no restrictions on the order sheet that prevent a black optics and 21" wheel combo. There are plenty of MY16 owners with black optics and 21" wheels. I even have the combo on my 15. Audi is not going to pass on the option to make more money off of you. Misinformation really runs amok on these forums.

I would go back and make sure the dealer didn't charge you for that option. The 20" wheels will be great for winter tire selection, just make sure you didn't get dicked over.

It's not mis information. If you ask for black optics without checking the 21" wheels box you won't get them. Simple

Called and spoke with Dealer this morning. I was curious about this now. So good thing the 21" wheel wasn't on my bill sheet. Here is what happens and the dealer said yes it happens often because the configurator is sort of messy. If you select the 21" wheel set before clicking the Black Optics package it sets the wheel set to the 20" 5 spoke and you have to go back and re-select the 21" set again. I wasn't charged for the 21" wheel.

I want to be clear though the system does mess up orders though. My next door neighbor ordered the "red calipers" on his new 2016 S3 and they actually showed up without the red calipers; yes it was on the bill sheet and the window sticker when the car showed up at the dealer site. The dealer said there was nothing he could do about it and even after going to the owner of that dealer they would not budge on ordering them and putting them on the dealers dime. The dealer said the best they could offer was removing the "$400" cost off the final purchase. That was some serious crap there.

I want to also point out this was messed up by manufacturing, not the dealer ultimately. Not trying to put this on the dealer either. Just want to say if someone wants my business long term they should do what's right in the end. Another alternative they offered my neighbor was to re-order the car and have to wait till Feb 2016.

The fix in the end was having someone do a high temperature powder coat of the calipers, which my neighbor paid for. The dealer should have offered, but didn't.

Your comments aren't adding any value to the conversation. If that was what you were trying to express by replying "black optics package," please try harder and say what you mean the first time. This is Audizine, not Mindreaders.net.

It's really simple if you would read between the lines preferably my index finger and my ring finger. I made a simple suggestion about why he didn't get the 21's. Stop overthinking it.

Hate to tell you, no dealer is going to pay for a mistake the manufacture or the owner made in ordering unless the dealer placed the order and made the mistake. Manufactures all have an out on ordering that production changes can be made at any time without notice. So as long as you are not charged for the item there is not much that can be done, sure some dealers may step up and try to offer a reduced price on the add on. Not all will though as some don't want to eat the cost of the change.

I'll just say I agree to disagree with your comment. No need to go on about it either if you disagree with my statement.

Who cares if it's 95 out, Kaiser needed a damn bath. This front end right here is getting changed real soon. Need to setup my appointment with Eurotech for a swap out. Stay tuned!

I gotta say that first post is one of my favorite 'build threads'. Reads like a fun story! You should just keep on adding to it/editing the 1st post with progress. Would be pretty cool to just read the whole 'build' in one shot.

Anyway, car looks great! Anxious to see what you have in store. Mine is basically your original Audi.com build. DGP ftw

Looks great! Have you thought about painting the rear valence? I spoke to Danek about it when I was there the other day, and I think I'm going to get the valence and my exhaust tips painted my next trip there.

Haven't thought about painting it, BUT I have been eyeing these two awesome items to go along with my Carbon Atlas. Thoughts?

Eurotech is the best shop in the Northeast IMO.

Nice ride. Were you in Westchester county, NY recently? I think I saw you and if not then a SQ5 in your color dropped on wheels and modd
    ed up nice.

I'm not normally big on carbon fiber accessories, but with daytona grey I think it adds some character without standing out too much. Those pieces are $$$ though!

BTW I got a good deal on the sways and end links from Eurotech with the EuroCode summer sale. If you're hitting the track again soon, I'd definitely consider taking advantage of that. I almost pulled the trigger on the AK as well but found some small amount of self control at the last second.

I ordered the carbon mirrors and door handles from them, and had considered the spoiler & diffuser, but decided I was going to keep the gloss black low & high all the way around the car and the CF in the middle. Have the AudiSport CF plate surround on the back as well.

Doing the diffuser, spoiler and probably the antenna in gloss black for contrast. Very interested to see how those turn out on your ride tho. They'll look great with that color.

You know your ride is off the hook. I follow your build a lot. I'm think of going Diffuser, Spoiler, Antenna & Mirrors CF from them.

I hope it turns out that way. This has been the longest waiting game this summer getting all these items that are on back order. It may take into the beginning of September, but it's gonna be the way I want it hopefully once all is done.

I didn't see where they did CF antennas. I looked but never saw it. Still think I'm doing that in black, but I really considered CF.

I want the diffuser badly! I've missed the Deval one on my 5. Mirror caps too. Might could look into a GB.

And I'm ready to order those wheels. How should I bill you, Matt? ;)
